special way to watch film.

We had been given a ticket.
Decided to use it up on a Wednesday night.
We chose a 3 course menu with a movie afterwards.
The portions were large.
We had the whole room to ourselves.
It's not a real cinema hall. This one's all got chestetfield sofas. 3 seater 2 seater in a steampunk environment.
There are also some chairs.
There was also a break in the movie.
You can still get a drink or something to eat.
Drinks talk or something.

silence of the woods but...

All the forests around the hotel as shown in the photo of this hotel suggest that you are in an oasis of silence. The other hotel guests actually didn't bother me much and I barely heard anything in the room. However, I stayed on the top floor of the hotel where the ventilation of the bathrooms did its job. If someone leaves a light on in one of the rooms (in the hallway?) the system will continue to emit noise. Not really a sound you can fall asleep to. Not me anyway. Complaining about this problem around 10 p.m., which had already been going on for at least half an hour, was too early. If the noise was still there by 11pm I could come back. And yes, there I was. They finally shut down the system half an hour later, or so I think. At least the noise had stopped. There was another smaller problem that I also reported that night and it was resolved immediately. Responding immediately is therefore useful. Don't wait until you check out to report small and large problems.
The room itself was OK for the price paid. Everything that was promised was there.
The breakfast was what you could expect for that price. An ordinary classic hotel breakfast that you could choose from.

Cancelled without giving reason by the property

Unfortunately, in June already booked for October. But yesterday without giving any reason our Reservation was cancelled by the accommodation itself. !!!!
Well, what about now? No room though other reservations/costs made to stay there in the area. Really outrageous that they treat their customers like this!
For me a reason to never go here again and a warning for those who book early..NOTHING IS CERTAIN IF YOU HAVE RESERVED!!!!!

Will we stay here again ? I don't think so.

The rooms are not so big, the bathroom rather small and dated and was not cleaned when we arrived. Check-in was rather strange, we arrived around 14:00 and could not check in because the room was not ready. After check-in and found the bathroom not cleaned and addressed this problem to the cleaning lady she told us that room had not been occupied for 2 days. Breakfast however was wonderful and very friendly breakfast staff.

Small and very noisy rooms.

Slept a night in Guldenberg on a bike ride through the Netherlands. And that wasn't the best experience. The hotel is located a long way outside the built-up area so you are more or less dependent on the restaurant of Guldenberg. More on that later.
The single room I was assigned was about the size of a couchette on the train. And the walls were as thin as a couchette. All the noises the neighbors made left, right and top were clearly audible. Right down to the toilet noises. And I probably had a neighbor upstairs who had eaten something wrong.
The restaurant is not only rather at the price, it also offers a very limited a la carte choice. Out of wearyness I decided to have a schnitzel. Apparently I had read wrong because the schnitzel appeared to consist of a slice of eggplant with a thick layer of firmly seasoned breadcrumbs around it and a mound of tzatziki next to it. It could have been zucchini, by the way. Because of that thick layer of herb breadcrumbs it was not to taste.
