Particularly fine vibe
At the cozy center of De Koog.
Nostalgic hotel with a special atmosphere .everything present and well arranged . The Jaspers family is Hugely welcoming and genuinely friendly. On Saturday evening an atmospheric performance by the musical family complete with vocal trumpet double bass and piano. In short: Great!

Friendly Owners, nice and clean but outdated
The owners are really exceptionally friendly, their live music is something you need to experience (especially with their daughter Roxy), the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but very very clean. The decor is outdated, but still charmy. Due to the location at the dorpstraat with bars and restaurants it is likely to hear people and chatter at night. Breakfast is well though nothing special.

unusually friendly people
The place is good but what is really surprising is the spirit of the hosts, they were professional singers and, on saturday evening, they perform for their guests, really nice; old american and international songs, with the limpid voice of their daughter. The service is good, they have parking and the position is central to visit all the island.

Complete rip-off and strange hosts
I have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel in my life.
First the hosts try and be so nice but we ended up feeling watched by them 24/7. Very strange.
The rooms are so so so clean and are serviced daily. The location is good too. We couldn't get much sleep as the teenagers walking past our bedroom window kept us up until 2am. Then breakfast is over by 9 30 am so its really terrible.
De Koog is such a nice place and we had a great holiday there, despite this horrible hotel experience.
We are only 22, so perhaps they didnt like us being so young. We were a quiet couple working in the Netherlands for a year and thought of taking a break.
It is VERY expensive for what you get. The towel are no bigger than hand towels which is strange and rooms are outdated. The hallways are pink PINK PINK and so outdated. I dont mind old, but this place was devoid of character.
Imagine a place where you don't feel comfortable sitting and waiting for your partner to fetch something upstairs?

Great Hosts, Great Location!
We stayed in Hotel Brinkzicht for 5 nights in August.
The first thing we noticed about the hotel when we arrived was the great location, it was right in the middle of De Koog, close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. It is one of the main roads into De Koog but there was little traffic noise at night, as it is such a quiet place. The only noise at night was from passing revellers who freqeunt the clubs in De Koog (there are only a couple). However this was only on one occassion and we got straight back to sleep. We were offered the use of earplugs on arrival in case the noise kept us awake at night but it wasn't that bad at all, however it was the end of the season.
The rooms in the hotel are basic but quite spacious with plenty of storage space, we had a lovely view onto the main street. The bathroom was small but very clean and the shower was good, although it went from hot to cold a few times. The towels were small - really bath towels would of been better.
The thing that really made the hotel for us was Stephan (the owner) he couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. He shook our hands on arrival and told us what time breakfast was, it was a nice personel touch. The breakfast was at 9-9:30am and was amazing there were eggs, hot bread, cold meat, jams, coffee, tea, fruit buns, ginger cakes. Everything was fresh and Stephan was always on hand to make sure everything was topped up and to see if everyone was okay. To the point were he actually tried to give you more food as he didn't want it to go to waste, safe to say the breakfast kept us going till well after 12pm. You could also stay and eat breakfast as long as you wanted and they didn't seem in a rush to get you out.
Stephan and Annamiek and their daughter all played musical instruments extremely well and it was their band practice that met us on arrival. They also all played at a local bar during the week and this was again enjoyable. It was indeed a friendly atmosphere!
The hotel also had bike racks located outside and this was essential as the only way to see Texel is by bike - as you really do get to make the most of it this way.
On departure - it was an early departure of 10.00am, however you certainly weren't rushed out and had time for a full breakfast before departing. You do need to pay by cash as there are no card facilities for payment but there are pleanty of cash points in De Koog (one across the street) just make sure that you don't need to take more than your daily limit as you will have to take it out across two days.
All in all this was a pleasant stay where we were made to feel extremely welcome and would return in the future. It was handy for everything and the food kept us going!
