Back to Basic in Fletcher the Salmon

Together with a friend Fletcher hotel the Salmon been. The hotel is located in the middle of the very atmospheric Brielle. For us a prime location with free parking at the back of the hotel. The outside looks completely renovated, but the inside certainly does not. And there are still points to be gained on that. Staff are very friendly at the bar and at the desk, but there seems to be a shortage of staff. The rooms are seriously outdated. Everything looks lived, broken, old and with stains (on the carpet eg). There is no climate control or air conditioning, so on hot days you can open the windows against each other and that was it. The beds are okay. The bathroom is basic and okay. The hotel is certainly not suitable for people with walking difficulties because of the stairs and thresholds. Breakfast is meagre, partly because it is not replenished on time and the quality is mah. The lunch and dinner menu dishes are fine. According to staff, the Salmon Fletcher will be renovated in 2027. For now, I'd skip the hotel, unless you don't have a problem with "going back to basic." Otherwise after renovation, it seems like a winner.

Rooms are Old. Small. Doesn't smell well. Some of rooms has Windows directly to the main Street and it laud specialy wp to 12pm. It is hard to sleep. Breakfast are ok in this price. Small parking but many public spots near. Good lokalisation.

Outdated interior.

Cozy atmosphere. Very nice staff. Great breakfast. Interior needs a refresh. Walls should have a paint job and carpeting is a stain gang and needs replacing.

Great place for weekend Brielle

Friendly staff and great location. Great breakfast and also dinner was fine. However, the room was so hot, it was difficult to sleep. Luckily there was a fan, which made it a bit bearable.

Bad Service.

Extremely disappointed with my experience. I had to cancel my booking due to visa issues and informed the hotel through Booking.com well in advance. Despite this, my debit card was charged four months later without my authorization.
What made the situation even worse was the attitude of the reception staff. I was rudely told that there was nothing I could do to get a refund and that involving the authorities would make no difference. Such a response is unacceptable and completely unprofessional for a hospitality business.
I am still requesting a refund and hope the hotel resolves this matter immediately. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property due to its poor customer service, lack of empathy, and questionable charging practices.
