Perfect little hideaway

If you are looking for a 5* luxury accommodation in the heart of Amsterdam this place is not for you!
However, for us this little gem was perfect for us. We came to see the sites NOT stay in our room the whole time!
My partner booked this place as he wanted us to have the boat experience, after looking at the reviews and seeing we would be in separate beds I was a little worried as this was my 40th birthday breakaway BUT I had nothing to worry about, infact I had the best 2 nights sleep for a long time! The showers were lovely and hot (they are communal so bring flipflops if you don't like standing in it)
David was a great host and breakfast was just enough for us.
This was a perfect location and place for us and we will be back again!

AVOID!!

The worst place I have ever stayed. The boat looks old, hasn't had an update or lick of paint in years. The owner says he does it for the money and you can tell. The steps down into the boat are narrow, and very thin, I almost fell a few times. The toilets are right next to the dining area. The shower and toilets are shared. There is no electricity in the cabins. The beds are super hard and the duvet inside the cover needs changing. The bedframe sticks out and getting in and out is difficult and sometimes painful. The carpet in the galley is a dirty piece of fabric. The place smells and I was constantly sneezing due to dust allergies. Breakfast was OK, but absolutely no way to prepare your breakfast without having to balance something. They only serve coffee at breakfast, none during check in, 4-8pm. I asked for a cup at 11am, was told yes, saw the owner put cold coffee from the breakfast pot (been there since 7am), into a small cup and put in microwave. When I asked for a touch of milk and sugar, I was told that the milk is ordered to a specific amount and I couldn't have any. The owners themselves were OK, not friendly but not stand offish. We arrived at 1930, having been travelling since 0130 that morning, when told of this we werent offered any refreshment, not even water, as breakfast was done. When we had to leave, my feet had swelled and I was struggling to move, instead of waiting an extra few mins for me to get off the boat, they moved the boat about 0.5 miles further down, resulting in me having to get a taxi to the station with my luggage. Not worth the money, and won't be back, nor would I recommend.

Not great!!

I know it’s a “barge hostel” but it’s really smelly, small, dirty and cold!! We didn’t spot the hostel bit when we booked so our fault really! There’s a few really nice barges around the same area! Good location though! Not a winter stay! Wish I’d paid a bit more and got a hotel! Good job only two nights!

Tiny but fantastic

We had a most enjoyable stay on the Anna Maria II. The rooms are extremely small, but the beds are comfortable and the facilities are clean and well-kept. Very affordable accommodation close to Amsterdam Centraal Station and other amenities.

Even if it was a cabin with one...two...three or four bunks you could only have one person standing at a time.
I doubt very much if anyone ever 're books...!!! I only had to suffer one night anymore I would have left.
