Stay in Kathmandu

Subi Homestay is a beautiful and peaceful place near the intensity of Kathmandu.
The neighborhood felt almost village like and after a demanding roadtrip from India to Nepal, this was just everything we wished for!!!
As ‘devoted’ yoga practicioners, they offered there space for continuing our practice. A rooftop for asanas in the early morning sunshine:))
To sum up; a most welcome place for travellers of all kind who wishes for a literal home staying experience and not the formal hotel like kind!!!
The people are great and you feel welcome right away.

Very pleasant family, quiet neighbourhood

The family helped us to get a taxi for a good price from the airport, and were very friendly and freely gave us advice on things to do. We had use of the kitchen and as much tea as we liked. Breakfast was provided and we were served dinner in the family home as well, which was very good and fun to meet other members and chat about life in nepal. Much quieter than Thamel and we slept very well. We returned for a other night at the end of our trek and would highly recommend this location to other travelers looking to distance themselves from Thamel and have a local experience.

My stay at Subi Homestay was wonderful. The family went out of their way to help me with anything I needed and made me feel like part of the family. Sanjita even dressed me up in a sari and took me to the Hindu Women's Festival. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is available for cooking. The inexpensive dinners that Sanjita prepared were always delicious. Though a bit from the center of town you can always walk about 10 minutes and catch a minibus for 20 rupees to Thamel. I would definitely stay here again.
