Hidden Gem in Rabat with the Sweetest Host Ever

I had such a lovely stay at Riad Blue Garden, and honestly, it wouldn’t have been the same without Bassam, the host who is not only incredibly kind and helpful, but also charming, handsome, and full of positive energy. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel completely safe, welcomed, and at home, always smiling and ready to help with anything I needed.

A beautiful experience

This is a guest house in an old household building about 600 years old, Bassam (the host) told me. It has the traditional features of a time when a married couple wanted to have privacy within the walls of their house, so there are hardly any windows to the outside and the light and fresh air comes from an opening in the roof in the middle of the house. All rooms are distrubuted in circle around this opening. Other features, as seen in the pictures, are the rypical arabian arches, carved marble walls and decorated water fountain. Absolutelly astonishing. And this is beatifully complemented with the warm welcome of its super helpful host, Bassam. He's an absolute treasure to this accommodation. He will go out of his way to make you feel comfortable and also assist you to get from the airport to the place. A couple of things to have in mind:
- I would open at least a window in the room whilst in it, even at night, otherwise it might feel like there's no air
- You need to get your own toiletries as not all are provided (towels are).
Lastly, my suggestion would be to get their contact details from google maps and book directly with them. Cheaper and no commission to big corporations.
