Worst hotel experience of my life.

During our stay: cockroach and ant infestation throughout the hotel including in our room at 2AM; replacement room with urine smell and dirty towels; hotel director Rafael who shouted at me, initially refused to speak English as 'RIU is a Spanish chain', and said cockroaches in coastal hotels are ‘normal’; and a staff member who physically grabbed my phone, forced Face ID to unlock it, and passed it through four people. Most of this has been recorded by Riu helpline directly, or is on camera. I have attached redacted pictures of the staff doing this so I would not infringe the privacy policies of Trip Advisor. The only thing that kept me from calling the police and pressing charges was the fact that I wanted to enjoy the last 24 hours in Morocco. What happened was a criminal offence punishable by jail time.
The only ‘compensation’ offered was a refund for a night we weren’t staying. No news from their customer service, and this has been three weeks.
This is a pattern. The hotel is aware of the infestation and has chosen to ignore it for years by management’s own admission. The food is also deplorable. It was most days undercooked or overcooked and always cold. My stomach and that of my husband hurt for a week after coming back.
Avoid at all costs.

Very good experience in Riad Taghazout

The Riad is good and beautiful and the sympathy of the staff excellent. Good breakfast and the bed super comfortable.

To avoid...

Only the location(like the 1245 others,around) deserves a 5 star rating.
Here, we find nothing of the Moroccan heat, not even the welcome tea...
The triple room is very, cramped, an unfortunate closet, an impassable bathroom so cramped it is,ask for a bath mat to mop up the shower that floods everything is impossible.the terrace ,which seemed pleasant turns out a furnace l afternoon because flooded with sun.for mornings,breakfast is not before 8.15am,crepes are not fresh,orange juice bottled and coffee.. with herbs..
As for the one who seems to hold the riad, the slightest remark is taken badly.
After a lot of stays at the maroc, this riad will be in the top 10 of "to avoid"
I don't understand this notation,on which I based my choice of this "riad"

Great location

The location near the incredible center of the handful square is excellent, the staff is extremely helpful and the friendly breakfasts may be slightly missing.We highly recommend a small and cute hotel's prime location feature Recommendation. So close to everything
