Wonderful and memorable

From the moment we stepped into this hotel, we knew we had made the right choice. Having travelled to Marrakech 10 times over the years, staying at riads, hotels, villas and apartments, this hotel is our best stay so far.
Reception
We were helped immediately with our luggage on arrival. Welcomed warmly with a delicious, cold fruit drink and had our room upgraded by the very helpful Samira on the front desk.
Rooms
We booked 2 comfort rooms and were upgraded to deluxe suites on arrival, and earlier than check-in time. The space was massive, elegant and practical, with 2 smart TVs so you can log into your Netflix, Prime or Disney+.
They made the sofa into one bed and added a second bed for my 3 kids.
Lots of cupboard space, mini fridge, safe, kettle, iron and ironing board.
The air-conditioning in one room definitely worked better than the other. It was fixed twice, but there was still a discrepancy, but not enough to consider changing rooms, especially since we had adjacent rooms (no connecting ones as far as I am aware which is a missed opportunity).
Bathroom
Walk-in large shower, with small ledge to enter, so suitable for someone with reduced mobility. Luxury feel with those little extras you get at those fancy branded hotels, like robes, slippers and shower cap. Decadent shampoo and shower gel. Only things missing for me: a drying line for swimwear; an extra couple of hooks or rails to dry towels for reuse, which would help with sustainability; (handheld) bidet; a grab bar to support getting in and out of the shower would make the shower more accessible.
Top Tip - the light switch is under the hairdryer, so easy to miss !
Location
It is further away from the main sites but easy to get into town. You can book a private hire taxi via the reception, but this can have a lead time. Alternatively take your chances on catching a taxi from the front of the hotel or book an uber.
The massive Marjaane supermarket is a 5 minute walk away where you'll find cheap food places, a kidszone play park for kids upto 12 years, and additional shops. Opposite the Marjaane, there are a number of local eateries to try too.
Swimming Pool
Stunning rooftop pool, no sun lounger reservations, free pool towels, pool bar with mocktails and nonalcoholic drinks, food available to order. Service with a smile always from Umar, who has been fantastic.
Depth 1.2m throughout. Safe for families with children but still swimmable for adults. Note - no lifeguard.
Burkini, bikini, swim vest and shorts - as long as it's swimwear, you're welcome here.(unlike some places in Marrakech)
Pool not heated but in summer that's not needed.
If you're coming in winter months, there's a state of the art gym, indoor pool and spa next door independent to the hotel, with separate ladies and men's facilities. You can pay for a day pass at 200dh or a week pass for 600dh.
Dining
The breakfast is one of the best I have had anywhere in the world. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. Food choices and quality were excellent, nutritious, and delicious. Complements to the chefs - outstanding cuisine !
Zakariya and the rest of the staff really look after their guests at the Spot.
We also had lunch the first day and ate at the pool bar upstairs. Whilst there are plenty of places outside to eat, the hotel dining was worth the small extra expense.
Gym & Spa
There is a small, yet functional gym, air-conditioned. I booked a wonderful massage at the spa, and Iman was an  excellent masseuse.
A couple of other points worth mentioning. When I booked, some of the bookings sites said there was no lifts at the hotel. Just to confirm, there are lifts and the numbers in lift are in braille too. I noticed room numbers also had braille numbers. The hotel is definitely making effort towards accessible travel.
The same is true for sustainability. With motion sensor lights in public areas, although I have admit they do turn off too quickly, and I felt I had to do a bit of a workout to keep them on long enough.
On both fronts, there's definitely room for some further adaptations. One small thing, would be to leave some extra room in the breakfast area for people to put their plates down, so they can safely add food rather juggling the plate.
Or adding water coolers, so people can refill water as they need, and avoiding single use plastic complementary bottles in the rooms.
But kudos to NearYo hotel for making effort where others simply aren't even trying.
I almost didn't write this review. I wanted to keep this gem of a hotel hidden so it doesn't become out of reach for us in the future. But I am so impressed by this hotel and the staff who work hard to make it a success, I simply had to. We check out tomorrow and can only hope we get to return again, soon !
Thank you to everyone at NearYo hotel for making our stay wonderful and memorable.
P.S. The hotel even hosted a watch party for the World Cup game (in case someone you know can't be without their football)
P.P.S. WiFi is excellent throughout
P.P.P.S. There are cheaper and more central hotels, but NearYo offers quality accommodation and facilities that make it great value.

A very disappointing experience, service that needs to be reviewed as a matter of urgency.

I am really disappointed by the very bad experience I had last night on your rooftop. It is really necessary to review your service standards.
Upon my arrival, at 10:20 PM, the server (Redouane) informed me that they were going to close in 40 minutes and that I had to place my order immediately. I asked him if it was the restaurant that was closing or just the taking of orders. He replied that only the taking of orders was going to stop and that I could stay as long as I wished.
The terrace was full of dust, just like our table. We had to ask for it to be cleaned.
After a 25-minute wait, we received two milkshakes that were absolutely nothing like a milkshake. It was essentially water, with no taste at all. I asked him if there was at least a scoop of ice cream in it. He replied that they don't put any in, that they only prepare them with milk, ice cubes, and powder. Frankly, that is not a milkshake.
At 11:00 PM, he came to present us with the bill. Once the payment was made, he asked us to leave the premises. I reminded him that upon our arrival, he had nevertheless assured us that we could stay as long as we wished. He started lying to me. When I asked to speak to a manager, he replied that there wasn't one. His behavior was inappropriate, disrespectful, and even vulgar. He stressed me out enormously and completely ruined my evening.
If he had told me the truth from the start, I would have gone elsewhere. In Marrakech, there are many rooftops that offer a much better experience. For example, I would have chosen the Nubu Rooftop, recognized for the quality of its service and its offerings.
I sincerely regret my visit to your establishment. Finally, I also invite you to review the prices indicated on your menus, because each menu displays different rates, which is very confusing.
I will never return and I will certainly not recommend your establishment.

We were helped immediately with our luggage on arrival. Welcomed warmly with a delicious, cold fruit drink and had our room upgraded by the very helpful Samira on the front desk. Despite the hotel listing saying there is no lift, there are 2 lifts on the property and it very easy to navigate with a pram, wheelchair or buggy.

The rooftop pool was superb. Enough sun loungers and free pool towels. Omar at the pool bar was friendly and helpful. You can order mocktails or nonalcoholic drinks from the pool bar, as well as food. Menus can be found on their website.
Relaxing massage by Iman at spa.
Excellent breakfast. Quality, variety and nutritious.
Location is further out of town but you can advance book a taxi via the hotel, use uber or try and grab a taxi from outside.
Massive Marjaane hypermarket only 5 mins walk away. Street opposite has lots of eateries round the corner.
Next to hotel is a gym, indoor pool and spa with ladies and men's only facilities, you can buy a pass.
