Clean. Very good aervice. Friendly staff. Beautifull rooftop terrace.
Very good location in the center (Medina). Near the Majorelle Gardens (walking distance: 15 mins). Very near to the Souk and most of the visit sites in Marrakech.

Marrakech - As it should be.
The night before our arrival, we had a message from the manager offering to collect us from the airport, which we declined as we had a car. The first point of note is that you can't get to the door of the riad with a car. There is parking very nearby, which costs about 20p a day - from there it's a 2 minute walk into the neighbourhood.
This is where the second point of note comes - as travellers used to European hotels, the local neighbourhood came as a bit of a shock, at first a little intimidating. HOWEVER, at the end of our 8-day stay, we could not have further changed our minds. The area is authentic, typical Marrakech without the veneer presented to the tourists. The local people are friendly, welcoming and accepting and we were very comfortable once settled in. I've only given 4 stars for the location, because it takes a while to walk into the medina, and it's a bit dusty, despite the locals' efforts to continually keep the place clean and tidy. The terraces of the raid itself provide a great view of the Atlas mountains and of the city - I recommend breakfast on the roof terrace at every opportunity.
The internals of the riad are stunning and the welcome from Ahmed was faultless. We were welcomed to Moroccan tea served by Ahmed, and shown our room, which was a suite on the ground floor overlooking the central courtyard. The room was lavishly furnished, immaculately cleaned and cool and quiet. Despite being in a prime position in the riad, it was also very private. It was amazingly quiet and secluded - relaxation being at the very centre of our stay.
All of the staff were great, helpful and attentive. That said, our privacy was very much respected and often we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The room maids did a wonderful job of preparing the room each day, creating a different ingenious artwork in the bedroom and bathroom each day of our stay.
Each day we were given the option of where to eat breakfast - the courtyard, dining room, main terrace or upper terrace - the latter, with an unrivalled view of the sunrise over the city being our default choice.
On two occasions, we opted to eat dinner in the riad. On both occasions, the food was OUTSTANDING. All freshly bought and prepared ingredients, cooked in authentic Moroccan style - it's a matter of regret that we didn't eat more often with our hosts. I can't praise the food highly enough - some of the best we've eaten anywhere in the world.
Lastly, special mention has to go to our hosts, Ahmed and Khalid. These two gentlemen would stop at nothing to make our stay amazing. An absolute credit to the establishment.
We will be back.

Thank you for this extraordinarily detailed review!
We’re deeply touched by your journey of discovery – from the initial surprise at our neighborhood to your profound connection with its authentic soul.
This transformation captures the very magic of Marrakech:
On the “Authentic & Typical” Location.
We completely understand the initial impact of our neighborhood.
As you so eloquently observed, here you won’t find “tourist stage sets,” but real Medina life – where neighbors greet you by name and children play in the alleyways.
That dust you mentioned? It’s the same dust dancing in the sunset light over the Atlas Mountains, witness to centuries of history.
The walk to the Medina’s heart (about 15 minutes) is part of this daily ritual, a sensory immersion true Marrakech lovers seek.
The Art of Hospitality:
Ahmed and Khalid: Our “guardians of hospitality” embody the Moroccan tradition of Lfdaya (sacred hospitality).
Their discreet yet ever-present care is a family legacy, not hotel protocol.
The artistic touches by our housekeepers: Those petal designs and towel arrangements are an ancient Berber custom – a silent message saying: “This house is your house.”
Your dinner descriptions fill us with pride!
We use only ingredients from Bab Ksour market (where Moroccans shop), cooked with recipes passed down by grandmothers in courtyard kitchens.
An Invitation for Your Return
We await your return to:
Reveal Riad Abbassia’s secret souk (5 minutes walk), where artisans still weave by hand under 16th-century arches.
Thank you for capturing our riad’s essence: not just lodging, but a bridge to the Moroccan soul.
With tbarrad (coolness of the heart),
Ahmed, Khalid, and the entire team at Riad Abbassia Marrakech Première
