Amazing Riad! Comfy and convenient

This riad was absolutely amazing—truly one of the highlights of our stay in Fes. The space is stunning, from the beautifully designed interiors to the rooftop with incredible views. Watching the sunset from up there was unforgettable—easily one of the best spots in the city.
The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond to help us plan our days, offering great recommendations and even assisting us in organizing a hammam visit, which made everything so easy and enjoyable.
Breakfast each morning was delicious and a perfect start to the day. Our room was huge, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with plush beds, great temperature control, and reliable hot water—something we especially appreciated after a desert trek and a previous hotel experience without it.
And a special mention to Leo, the adorable resident puppy—so friendly and lovable, he completely stole our hearts! We love you leo!!!
The location was also very convenient, making it easy to explore the city. I highly recommend staying here—don’t hesitate, just book it for a wonderful experience.

Safety issues, there was electricity running through the shower faucet

I’m very late writing this, but better late than never.
Riad Semlalia is a beautiful property, honestly one of the most authentic places I stayed during my 10-day trip around Morocco in May 2025. The architecture and details are stunning, and my photos speak for themselves.
That said, my experience took a serious turn.
I almost got electrocuted in the shower. The shower (set inside a jacuzzi with jets) had electricity running through the faucet. While showering, I felt a current through my elbows. When I stepped out and tried to turn off the water, I got shocked again. Thankfully I was already outside the shower at that point.
I immediately reported it, but the reaction from the front desk was dismissive at first. Only after insisting did they come up and call maintenance, who confirmed there was electricity.
What bothered me most wasn’t just the issue, it was the lack of urgency and apology.
The next morning, after a lot of back and forth, I pushed for a refund, got it, and left.
Beautiful place, but I wouldn’t stay again. I simply don’t trust the safety of the rooms.

Beautiful Riad

Nice Riad with a great ambiance service. The rooms were beautiful and we were provided a complimentary upgrade to a suite , the room well appointed, very clean and some beautiful traditional architecture.
The restaurant / dining area, and common areas were beautiful, a beautiful rooftop terrace and pool, unfortunately due to the weather in December we could not enjoy the pool and rooftop.
Abdoub was an excellent host and looked after all our needs well. Thank you.
I would certainly recommend this Riad.

Can't say enough about this property. From the welcome by Abdula at the secure gate, we were whisked inside for mint tea, then taken on a guided tour around the property. This is an amazing beautiful home shared with guests. Very quiet due to it being the low season, but we were made to feel at home. Was a nice feeling to hear the gate click shut behind you after the chaos of the Medina. Enjoyed the pool area which has a lovely view over the hillside. Property has a lift which was great traveling with heavy luggage. Breakfast was lovely. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Would happily stay again. Close to city gate to arrive and depart by taxi.
