Awesome guest house and excellent people.

I stayed with my film crew at Taiga guest house 3 times. Once in November, 2015, then in May, 2016 and January, 2017. What an excellent hospitality and support. I support and suggest Taiga to anyone who wants to explore Mongolia.

Avoid this place !

Please don't trust ! I booked a bed for one night and I tried to pay BUT the employees don't speak ANY word of convenient english and as the emploee saw the reduction, she told me that it was ok, I didn't have to pay. I insisted, I REALLY INSISTED and she insisted harder. I gave up thinking I would come back for my last night in Oulan Baatar. But meanwhile, the boss of the guest house told everybody that I was a thief who flew without paying. NOBODY TREATED ME LIKE THAT BEFORE ! She has to hire people who speak english or train bettef her employees.
Excepting this point, the beds are horrible and the entrance door opens directly in the sleeping room.... INCREDIBLE ! But the bathroom is really clean (the only good point !).
This place is the cheapest one but also the worst one ! Forget about it !

In retrospect, this issue was probably caused by confusion from the online payment systems that some guests use. We use several booking sites and some guests pay online, while others pay with cash. In any case, I sincerely apologize for the confusion that was caused in your case. All employees involved in this transaction were reviewed and/or replaced. A lot has changed in the course of the last year and we continue to strive to serve our guests better every season. As our reviews indicate on several booking/travel websites, Taiga Guesthouse & Tours is consistently well rated (8.0/10 or higher) by our guests. Central Guesthouse

Taiga Guesthouse is conveniently located, just next to the Department Store. I like the ambiance, it is simple but you get everything you need, wifi, hot shower, kitchen facilities and easy access to public transportation. We stayed there every time we passed Ulaanbaatar and we'd stay there again!

Mongolian delight

This is a new guesthouse and hostel offering unbeatable value for money and homely accommodation right in the heart of Ulaanbaatar. Minjin and her family will make you feel very welcome and the facilities will help you feel comfortable and instantly at home. Plus you will find that you are right in the hearty of UB. The State Department store is right next door and Peace Avenue is 1 minute away.
Bathrooms are clean and tidy and there is plenty of hot water. Hostel/guesthouse staff will also help you plan excursions to the surrounding countryside and help with competitive car hire rates. You will definitely want to return
