A real dump

Between the cockroaches, dog barking, folks talking right outside my room at 2 am, and the blaring sound of a radio at 8 am, I could not get any sleep. They also tried to extort me for more money than I actually owed. I ended up paying more than 500 pesos more than I owed as the woman cornered me asking for more. Wifi was also inconsistent.

Great Stay !

Very chill hotel/hostal. The owner is very nice and helpful with information about things around the area. It is clean and has air conditioning. Dorm included lockers and kitchenette. Would recommend for a stay in the cute town of Akumal!

Excellent

Andreas and her dad are very nice hosts. The room at the top floor is very spacious and clean, with views over the village. We needed a quiet place, this was perfect for couple of nights. There is a shared kitchen, and also a burrito shop nearby selling tasty fresh food. Would highly recommend in Akumal;)

The best deal in Akumal!

We booked here for 2 nights but stayed 3. It's in a great location to experience the town and culture proper - there is so much more to Akumal than turtles! The beach is a 15 minute easy walk away but bicycles are also available to rent.
The room was perfect with full sized fridge, sink, good hot water, shower, coffee maker, comfortable clean bed, AC, fan and a huge TV! Wifi was excellent. There is a shared kitchen too.
The young girl doesn't speak English but the owner does and he's a very friendly person, as are the people of Akumal.
Accommodation on Akumal is very pricey, but this is pennies and worth everyone of them and more! I hope to return someday!
