More than a hotel, an experience

I loved staying in Punta Caliza. It is a very nice, clean and comfortable place, perfect to rest and enjoy to the fullest. It also has an excellent location: it is very close to the beach and the center; walking you arrive in about 10 minutes.
Breakfast is exceptional and all the foods they offer are really delicious.
But without a doubt, what makes the difference are his collaborators: Max, July, Jorge, Irvin, Eduardo and of course Toñita and Chuy in the kitchen. Everyone strives to make you feel good and make your experience unforgettable. Undoubtedly, a place I will return to:)

Our stay at Punta Caliza was truly exceptional! Julie, Irving and Max made our stay so memorable and took it to a 6 star experience. The chef, Jonathan, is the best on the island. Every morning was a delicious surprise with an authentic, local breakfast cuisine. The sauces and spices are fresh and unique. Just say YES to the daily breakfast special! The location is perfect and the pool is one of a kind. Very peaceful and relaxing stay on Isla Holbox! Can’t wait to return! Thank you Caliza Team!

Punta Caliza is the perfect blend of modern & traditional Mexico. The space is tranquil, the breakfast was exciting and filling every morning. Their team are all lovely and super friendly, offering great suggestions and making you feel welcome. You can see there was so much thought put into this hotel and all that it encompasses.

We had an amazing stay at Punta Caliza. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, the pool is stunning and the beach club is amazing (it’s just a 3 min walk down the beach from the hotel and the food and cocktails are excellent). Each room has its own private plunge pool leading onto the main pool and there is a small bar / restaurant (I think the website advertises live music there but we never heard any during our stay).
There are a few small things I think could be improved though. Firstly, it would have been great to have more breakfast options (you can have either a local special or an omelette) and the coffee was really disappointing as someone who looks forward to their first coffee of the day! On the first day we were literally served brown water because we were told that the coffee machine wasn’t working and it didn’t get significantly better, to be honest. My boyfriend was told he couldn’t have a cappuccino on every morning of our stay. Also, our room wasn’t cleaned on the first day because the staff didn’t have a spare key. All these things are completely understandable but just not in keeping with the premium feel of the rest of our stay.
Lastly, the staff were very helpful in booking us an airport shuttle from Chiquila but unfortunately the company they booked us with (Genesis) does not seem reliable and were apparently unaware of our booking when we arrived. This made our trip to the airport slightly stressful! I’d advise not booking with them.

Fantastic properly just off the main beach. Lovely stuff that go well beyond for the guests. Quiet, but you can easily hear your direct neighbors if they are not very self aware.
