Surprise for good

We were staying at this hotel, which turned out to be very like and totally affordable, spacious bathrooms and super comfortable queen bed, has highlighted with outstanding the staff in general, are very close and friendly , totally recommended.

Nice place to stay in Comitan

Very nice older hotel in the center of Comitan. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Gave us information on local travel agency to enable us to visit the Lagos de Montebello and the ruins at Chinkultic. Gave us the information we needed to visit the ruins of Tenam Puente on our own. Very nice breakfast in pleasant courtyard but on one of the days there was a large group and the staff seemed overwhelmed, so we ate elsewhere. Large attractive room on central courtyard.

Nice place downtown with lots of personality!

From the skeleton keys, the 10 foot doors, the crystal chandeliers, the art works, and the valet parking - this hotel is wonderful from the start. The food is good, the people are nice, hard working and several speak english. The upgrades (like the bathrooms) do not degrade from the feel of the place. If you are looking for something to complain about - the hotel can be a bit noisy - as the original construction did not come with sound deadening technology.

very nice hotel

As you walk through the entrance your view opens to a very large patio which has a pérgola for covered, outdoor seating for the restaurant. The walls of the encircling corridors are covered with good, interesting art. I chose a Superior room and it was well worth the extra cost. It was large & well appointed with ceilings are about 5 meters high. The bathroom was also large & the shower had abundant hot water. All the employees were friendly & helpful. Alejandra at Reception helped find me a taxi to hire for 2 days to take me to the sites I wanted in the surrounding area. She speaks sufficient English.
The only negative comment I have is that I could hear the TV & voices from the home next to the hotel though it wasn’t loud enough to keep me from sleeping.
I would definitely return to this hotel.

Splendid Hotel

We stayed two glorious nights at this hotel. The staff was very, very helpful and attentive, and having an English-speaking desk clerk was a nice surprise. Our room was super - towels were of the highest quality, bedding sublime, nice lighting, artistically detailed. It was quiet and Internet worked whenever we needed it. The price was very economical given the quality of the hotel rooms. It's centrally located which was good for us without a car. The staff arranged for massages at a local spa and they were wonderful. We'd return in a heartbeat.
