Worst hotel experience ever

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
At no point during the booking process were we informed that the hotel would be accommodating a large group of students. Had we known this, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere. Unfortunately, many of the students showed a complete lack of respect and consideration for other paying guests, which had a significant impact on our stay.
During our visit, we reported several incidents to reception. The most serious occurred when one student discharged pepper spray into another student’s face. I was caught in the spray while passing by, leaving me with sore, irritated eyes and persistent coughing. This was an extremely concerning incident, yet it did not appear to be treated with the seriousness it deserved.
Throughout our stay, there was constant disruption, including doors being slammed at all hours of the day and night, shouting in the corridors, and water fights. As a result, we had very little opportunity to rest or sleep.
Despite reporting these issues on multiple occasions, the reception staff appeared largely uninterested in resolving them. We repeatedly asked to be moved to a quieter room, but were told this was not possible because the hotel was fully occupied.
When I eventually spoke to the manager, I was astonished to discover that he was completely unaware of both the pepper spray incident and our repeated requests to change rooms. This demonstrated a clear lack of communication and concern within the hotel. To make matters worse, no apology, explanation, or gesture of goodwill was offered. Instead, I was met with an attitude that suggested our experience simply wasn’t a priority. I wonder had I been a male if things would have been dealt with differently.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing stay. The lack of transparency before arrival, the unacceptable behaviour that was allowed to continue, and the apparent indifference shown by staff and management fell well below the standard I would expect from any hotel. I would not recommend staying here and certainly would not return. On a positive note the cleaning staff and restaurant staff are outstanding especially Natalia and Robin!

Only the staff kindness was perfect there.

Location good enough for buses and sea cost. I had all inclusive, but it was very poor choise of food and drinks. Bar closed at 23.00. Hotel was clean. Pool is small, but it was enough space for everybody to swim and tan. Very very friendly and helpful staff. There are summer camps for kids-teenagers. So pool several days was closed from 8pm till 11pm for a private party. One night kids were departing somewhere so loud at 2.30-3.20am and their tutor was ignoring my request to be respectfully quiet to other guests.

The breakfast experience was not pleasant at all, what hotel has all the food behind plastic screens and you cannot help yourself, you ask the staff for each item you want, joke am l not capable of plating my own food. The staff have no interaction with the guests it's like being in a school dinner experience, all the photos show food open and no screens on Web site, and breakfast closes at 9am far to early any modern hotel finishes at 10am.
The hotel is good staff outside of dining room excellent and friendly, bar area a little dated, location is fine.
Just a pity breakfast experience does not come up to standard, also lots of people in pyjamas at breakfast not acceptable, for the breakfast and dinning would not recommend unless big changes are made

Been coming to Malta for 18 years and stayed in all sorts of hotels but Bella Vista I'll rate as the worst Hotel in St Paul's Ba

We stayed at the Bella Vista Hotel for four nights in June 2026. We paid €48 for the upgraded room.
We were shocked by how outdated the room was. The air-conditioning broke down after two days and the shower was awful. Going hot and cold every few seconds. The hotel was packed with Spanish students aged between 12 and 25, Swinging off the balcony, Loud music till 2am, Shouting across, Swearing, Smoking weed oh you name it they were doing it. The hotel was a total nightmare from start to finish. The staff wasn't interested at all when reported. The lift broke down. We paid for Breakfast and Dinner! That was awful... Choice of three meals, Choice of Three Puddings and no water on the table... You had to pay for drinks. I would not recommend this hotel if you're looking for a peaceful holiday away. Worst experience of my life and never again. Look elsewhere if I'm honest.
