So authentic and affordable

Emilienne and her daughter Soniella are so welcoming.They propose a very typical and excellent coconut fish dish! You will feel very welcome and treated as a true friend at this charming place with very affordable prices

i went to Madagascar to relax, and i found this little amazing place in ile sainte marie , Nella the owner welcomed us and show us to where we stayed in a bungalow that was about 10 meter from the sea front, as we went into the bungalow ,you have 1 double bed (very confortable)with mosquito net all over it, a wardrobe a table and 2 chair. At the back of the room there is an open shower room with hot water and toilet. that is the bungalow with your own terrace. there is 7 or 8 bungalow some for 1 to 2 people and some for family with a little kitchenette. at the entrance of the property you will find the reception , bar and restaurant , you can have your breakfast , lunch and Dinner there if you like at a Very reasonable price. the food that they prepare there is all locale from the community and from the sea OMG the lobster are amazing...
the sea is cristal clear and warm, dont forget your snorkel mask and fin the sea floor is fabulous. about 2 km from le rocher the town center you cant find cash point, super market

Fantastic local place!

This place is fantastic for long lazy afternoons on the patio or beach, listening to the waves.. reading one of the many books left behind by other travelers, looking up now and then to see some whales passing, or maybe dolphins, or local fisher people from the neighboring village. Or for a small swim. And to enjoy the great food. It's super relaxing. And the staff is just super super.
Price is very reasonable. Less than in the more luxury French orientated hotels that often do not have much more to offer, except for French cuisine maybe and sometimes even airco (but for extra price).
Arrived in this place by accident. We wanted to book other hotel but it was full and this place was suggested. There are bungalows. Each bungalow is very clean and in local style with bathroom including hot showers and each bed has moskito-netting (remember that malaria is endemic in Madagascar). The bungalows are directly facing the water and in the shade of trees. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is all possible in the reception/restaurant building. Directly facing the beach. In the right season you can literally see whales swimming by while enjoying your food from the patio!!
The food is great! Local cuisine, fresh. Lots of fruits, sea-food (des langoustes! Yummy!) and (of course) rice.
There is no airco. Hot water best to let them know when you want to take a hot shower to make sure it's activated. Same for breakfast, lunch and dinner so they can prepare in time the food. Staff speaks French, English not guaranteed.
The island town is a bit far away, about 20 minutes by moped which you can rent in the hotel. Not that there is much to do in town.. They also rent out all-terrain motorbike if you plan to go up north which is more wild. Also whale-watching and other trips can be booked with help from the hotel staff.
Very glad that I visited this place. Recommended!

Accueil sympathique

Deux nuits passées dans ce petit établissement composé de bungalows posés sur le rivage. La plage n'est pas exceptionnelle pour se baigner (présence d'herbier et de roches…), mais le cadre est sympathique, les repas corrects. Un petit bémol sur le tarif de la nuit hors saison (30000 ariary négociés, alors que d'autres établissements similaires proposent 20000). Petite boutique souvenirs sympa aussi.
