Very Nice place, close to beach and airport

We are Americans and we stayed here for two weeks, the place is very nice and the staff is friendly. It was very close to the airport, and about 5 min's away from the beach. The restaurant is very good, we do not like the beef in Madagascar!! The chef made the beef taste like real beef. If your a foreigner you know what I'm talking about with the beef. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were big, out side of the room their is a nice sitting area. The room had A, you need it here. They have a nice big swimming pool. If I need a room in Mahajanga this is were me and my family will stay, having a room right next to the beach is over rated if it feels like your camping. This is a very nice, modern place I would highly recommend it. I will take Modern over camping any day. LOL

Disappointed regular

I am a regular at the Saara Hotel in Mahajanga, but this year was probably one of my worst experiences. The state of the infrastructure leaves much to be desired and the maintenance of the pool is very mixed. However, the most disappointing thing is the behaviour of the staff: respect for the customer is not the same depending on who you are. When it comes to a child, they scream instead of speaking with respect, while with an adult they become too obsequious. This difference in Processing is unacceptable to a hotel. It is regrettable to see such a deterioration in a hotel where I used to spend good times

Not Impressed At All For The Price

Attaching photos to show. Insufficient electrical outlets and not conveniently placed. Room felt like it was "full of mosquitos". Spent a good amount of time trying to kill mosquitos before going to bed. The aircon was not cooling down the room sufficiently even though the temperature was set to 17 degrees. The mattress in the 2nd room was terribly soft and would sink in to the wooden panel underneath as soon as I laid on it. The swimming pool was only half filled and dirty - unusable. The only good thing I can say about this property is there was a tiny playground in front of our bungalow for my kids to play at and for me to get a workout done. But then again I didn't get this place for a playground. In fact I was hoping my kids would be able to play in the swimming pool. I couldn't bear to stay here another night and left, and found another place that charged just 5000 MGA (local currency) more but which was beautiful and comfortable.

3mn from airport, close to the beach

I have a mixed feeling while staying at saara: the hotel site is beautiful: huge parking, luxury rooms are set like little private villa, swimming pool and a welcoming staff. Food was good also. But the place lacks the sense of details: my shower cabin didnt function properly, there is no plug in the room to charge phone/laptop, extra blanket was not available. There is no international tv channel or flat screen TV. Only local TV displayed on big cathodic tv. Poor lighting in the room and in the entrance...
Few annoying things but quickly forgotten when looking at the value you get. Also there is a sitting area in front of each room and you can cater for your own food outside the room.

Ideal to discover the place

The hotel is placed just next to the Airport, outside downtown, near the best beach around, nice room, perfect for touristic purpose. Good to mention, the young manager was very helpful, Best mojito ever... try it...
