A Mixture of Old and New Environments/Architectures

Quite different than Old Town Tallinn and Old Town Riga as this city is a combination of old and new throughout versus having a central Old Town area; the city provides a wide variety of attractions to see and experience. I really enjoyed visiting Gerdiminas Castle/Tower as the panoramic views were outstanding. Other areas to visit for panoramic views would be Old St John’s Tower located in Vilnius University and the Tower by the Basilica. Other places to visit is St Anne’s Church, the Gates of Dawn, Church of Sts Peter and Paul, Church of St Francis and St Bernard and the Vilnius University Library, which had beautiful paintings, etc., If time allows, highly recommend taking a day trip to Trakai Castle and Paneriai (Ponor).

Nice

Typical old European town with many restaurants and bars and pubs. The ambiance of the place attracts you for sure. Clean environment, when i was there at night it was cold but thats the climate, my luck. Go there and experience the place.

Fine sleepover

I spent one night here with my friends and everything was fine. Our room was clean and wifi was fast enough... stuff was very helpful. The hostel is placed in very peaceful area, so there is no noise in night. It is also close to the city center.

A nice morning spent here

I needed more time to wander the streets here. I think more information is needed to inform visitors about the Jewish Ghetto area from WWII. It's a very interesting area but maybe a specific guide knowledgeable in WWII history should be hired

Lovely , vibey city

Lovely old town ! Perhaps not as picturesque as Riga and Tallinn and much larger but still lovely with many old churches and buildings . Very cosmopolitan with upmarket shops and coffee shops . Many restaurants and great nightlife. Easy to navigate around by foot - we didn't use public transport . Many good viewpoints too.
