Outstanding in many ways

This is an outstanding resort and hotel. The place is very eclectic. Although the building is old, it’s really well kept and you could tell that the management is working hard to do a fantastic job. The service, for us, was really superb. Evija in particular is outstanding in her service. She’s doing tons of things around the house, she was at the reception greeting us then at the kitchen preparing excellent food and many other things—and always cheerful. The breakfast was absolutely stunning. Too much food and all is of excellent quality. The room was very clean. I read some negative reviews, but our experience was really positive. One important thing to note is that the room only had sheer curtains on the window. Sunset is very late, and sunrise is very early (in the summer), so the light bothered us, especially early morning. Just be prepared with something to cover your eyes. The grounds are beautiful with lots of places to walk and explore. My wife and I really like this place and we highly recommend it.

We won't be back again

Dirty linen in the bed: it looks like it hasn't been changed since the previous occupants. Full of other people's hair and a dirty pillow. No air conditioning. It was hard to sleep.
No soundproofing. There is no elevator, we were placed on the 4th(?) floor, there are many stairs. The room consisted of two rooms, both filled with beds and not enough space. There are sockets 10 cm above the floor and behind the cabinet; there are very few of them.
Breakfast was very poor, we left hungry.
The services stated that the staff spoke Russian, but in reality no one spoke.
Pros: free parking, park for walks and you can swim in the lake. Delicious food in the restaurant.

Family Reunion

The grounds are absolutely beautiful! There are plenty of things to do for the kids in the family! The service is very friendly and efficient! Very peaceful environment! The food was delicious, well prepared and beautifully plated and presented! The manor is very close to Sigulda and the Gauya national park. It is also close to the bobsled training facility and in the summer you can go down the track in sled with rubber wheels. Lots of fun!

Absolutely beautiful hotel and grounds

My wife and I stayed here and loved our stay. The castle is a beautiful setting overlooking a relaxing lake and in the middle of a large park with many trails to explore. We immediately felt our stress melting away. The indoor pool is great for a morning workout and the trails are perfect for a run. The restaurant was also very good with solid options for lunch/dinner- although it is the same menu for both.

First class amateurs

You drive from Riga for an hour to find out they charge you 2 euros per person to get in which is absolutely fine. BUT they dont take card nor do they speak English in the entrance, so no help and no visit. It absolutely baffles me how you can run a tourist attraction, a hotel and a restaurant without thinking of the visitors so now they lost out on earning money on the lunch as well...

Very good location
