Perfect place to visit and stay for night

Fantastic place to stay!
Castle with history and museum of antique collection! Many rooms of castle with different time antique paintings, furniture, elements of daily life.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel very clean and cosy atmosphere.
Very beautiful ancient park to meditate and refresh.
Also, try the restaurant inside, very delicious and candy dishes

Nice castle

but so-so hotel .Medieval castle ,but rebuild in 19th century - still one of the best in Curland. There are just some hotel rooms ,different size ,but all with furniture from the beginning of 20th century (?) ..."Extra long beds " and "soundproofing " are just words , LCD TV - too small.
The good- restaurant ,serving inner yard and gallery opened 12-20 on Friday till Sunday. Offers some regional dish ,at very acceptable prices. "A la carte " breakfast for hotel guests is pricey (8 Eur), but consists of some cold cuts, omelette/porridge/pancakes (your choice ) really good Julius Meinl cofee and a fruit coctail.
4 points go to the castle ,but just 3 - to hotel...

Trying to be stately

I looked forward to staying in a castle but was very disapointed. To get to the rooms is a bit of a hick up rickity stairs. We thought we had booked dinner for 8pm only to find out the resauant closed at 8pm. We ended up having to drive through a dark and very wet latvian night to fine a cafe that was open and we could eat. The cold breakfast offered was not up to much so we ordered a ommlette for which we were charged 12 euro for two people. Even though we had booked B&B

Perfect stay

We booked a superior room and it was amazing! The castle is very pretty and has an interesting museum. The descriptions there are in Latvian and German. From the museum you can also access the tower which gives you a nice view over the park. Our room was huge and like a real castle room lovely decorated and painted. Everything was very modern with a beautiful huge bathroom and bathtub. We had a room with lake view. The castle has 8 hotel rooms only so it was very quiet. The breakfast was a la carte and amazing! We paid 6 EUR for breakfast per person and 2 EUR for the museum each. Parking was in front of the castle. Wifi was perfectly working. A must stay when you are in the area. It is a good stop over coming from cost or going there. We warmly recommend this lovely place to everybody

Сказочный замок и потрясающий музей

Наполненный стариной, картинами, старинной мебелью, посудой, коврами, и коллекциями всего-чего, замок, в котором и гостиница, и ресторан, и прекрасный музей, не оставят равнодушными никого! Уютно и со вкусам по крупицам воссозданный замок с залами, жилыми комнатами, музейными экспонатами, весь наполнен духом старины и восхищения трудом тех, кто восстановил этот замок. Мы останавливались в номере 8, в самом музее. Очень красиво, с резной старинной мебелью и современнейшей сантехникой. Ужин и ресторане был прекрасен, суп из раков, свиная нога с соусом из хрена и тушеной капустой, незабываемы! Десерт Павлова был на высоте! Прекрасная музыка и просеко дополнили и завершили чудесный вечер!
