Excellent

Fabulous place. Comfortable, clean, great location overlooking the Mekong river and on the right side for the sunsets. Spacious air-conditioned rooms with minibar and fabulous coffee. Darren is a great host and full of anecdotes and useful information re tours and places to explore

Don't Stay Here!

I had to wait an extremely long time to check-in. The room did not look clean. There was water dripping from the wall in the bathroom. The owner was nasty and defensive. He would not take responsibility or apologize for any issues. The location is not too bad and rides and tours can be arranged. I can not recommend this place in Laos, Don Det.

Amazing experience

well what can I say only good things about moon By Night. What a ripping spot, great accommodation, clean, comfortable, good air con, the rooms are just a step about jour normal Don Det accommodation, really comfortable, outside little sitting room where in the evening you can sit with a beer lao and watch the magic sun sets as moon by night is located on the sunset side of the island. everything including bars, restaurants, swimming areas are all in close proximity to Moon By Night, very peaceful at night.
The owner Darren is a really good host and top bloke, knows everything there is to know about the area. He can give you advice, book tours and literally steer u in the right direction. The man is a walking encyclopedia regarding don det. I will stay there again and again. the place is magical.

Great place to stay (sunset side), quiet and v near bars & restaurants

We loved staying at Moon By Night, the location was great (on the sunset side of the island) and Darren, the host is fab. He was so helpful when we arrived, giving us the lowdown on the island - suggesting places we could go and explore etc. A nice chap and chats too

Perfect bungalow accommodation to chill

DonDet is a very chilled place that is especially suitable for relaxing. The luxury tourism stays away here (thank God). In this place it is important to have accommodation like this - very clean, air-conditioned and above all - an exceptionally friendly host. Darren takes care of all needs and makes the stay something very special!
