Best urban access to Nairobi

It's a great place if you're planning to live in the closest suburb to the CBD. The studio apartments are self-sufficient, a walking distance from a supermarket and an open fresh food market. I would advice booking via Airbnb for consistency of service as part of the building are managed by different parties.

Avoid host Norah Asuga like a plague - Dishonest and Not Worth Operating any Hospitality Business

Arrival Experience - My colleague and i were allocated rooms that had been used with towels strewn onto the the sofas in one and another had a guest inside. This latter case presents serious safety and privacy breach concerns. This kind of welcome to guests is unacceptable and a quick turn off considering that we arrived late and had been in communication all through.
Pre- arrival requests not honoured- i asked for a quiet room on upper floor but was given a first floor room overlooking the street with a night club playing deafening music all night. On request for a room switch the next day, a 5th floor unit on the same wing was assigned! This only translates to a lack of consideration and fulfillment of your guest's needs and requirements.
My final room (305)was only serviced once in 5 nights yet the staff had access to it. Same bed linen and towels, an un - emptied dust bin - This is unacceptable.
Sleep comfort - struggled spending nights on a rock-hard mattress. An attempt was made to 'soften' it but it wasn't enough.
Power outages - my room had black outs on 2 occassions over my stay period. The first case was restored but after a cold shower and staying in darkness at night, the second one had not been fixed by the time i checked out.
Post stay experience - Whereas i paid for my stay on arrival and had asked for an e-Tims compliant invoice before my arrival, this remains unfulfilled days after my six nights stay. All follow up efforts have not borne fruit with Norah Asuga claiming not to issue e-tims invoices. This is notwithstanding that she had confirmed to issue 4 days ahead of my arrival. It creates mistrust to your guests for a service that heavily depends on honesty.
Safety perception- that we had key lock safe access codes for a total 5 rooms whereas our requirement was just 2 raises serious questions on exposure to your guests. Malicious characters may take advantage of such gaps. I raised a concern on an individual i saw accessing multiple guest rooms but an update on his whereabouts was never shared with me. This feedback loops are a cause for worry to guests.
Know Your Guests - despite this extended stay, the guards at the gate kept bothering us whenever we returned in the evenings. They would query if we were staying within the premises. This went on to as late as our sixth night!
Identification on first entry - while we were 2 guests in separate rooms, the night duty guard only registered one of us when we arrived. This is non-compliance and a safety/security risk.
This wasn't my experience in June 2025 where i had a seamless stay experience. It was on that account that I returned and even brought another guest for six nights. Whether i would stay again is a BiG NO.

Terrible experience

We booked three rooms in this place for 3 nights, when we arrived they only had two rooms. One of the rooms had bugs in the shower. There were four of us but they only gave us one towel per room. There was some random plastic bucket sitting in my shower. The mirrors in the bathrooms were disgusting. If there had not been a curfew we would’ve left that same night. We slept there because we had no other choice. Next morning we woke up and booked a different hotel for the remaining two nights.

Never again ! It’s a nightmare!

Stayed there for just a transit as my flight was on the evening. Picture in of the property was completely different than reality. It’s like getho . In such COVID situation I doubt of the cleanliness. Very noisy neighbours and the place it self is not decent. Lucky I wasn’t stay overnight otherwise I might get nightmares!

You might be taken to a different place than the one you booked

The place is clean and decent, no problem with that (nice view from the room as well).
Also, we opted to be picked up from the airport and the driver was there on time (he even waited quite a bit for us because our flight was late). The ride was enjoyable and he was friendly.
However, Mvuli told him to take us to a completely different place without even asking us (?!). We were taken to a different (not very attractive and a bit dodgy) area, further from the center (There was a reason why I chose Mvuli and that location).
When we reached the wrong address, a lady at the door asked us (in a pretty unfriendly tone) how she can help us (in other words who we are and what we're doing there - i guess she was as surprised as we were). After a phone call, she and another lady told us that the place we initially booked was full and there were no available rooms there - without any further explanation, let alone apology. We insisted to go to the "right" Mvuli, and that otherwise we want a refund and we'll go somewhere else. Eventually, there was a room available in Mvuli and the driver dropped us off at the right location.
With heavy traffic in Nairobi you can imagine how much time was wasted - we left the airport around 7 am and finally reached the right place at 11am (good we weren't in a hurry or had any plans for that day).
