Exceptional hospitality! The staff here are amazing and went out of their way to help us. Cleanliness is top-notch in the rooms and throughout the vicinity. Breakfast was also very nice. A truly great experience; we highly recommend staying here!

Another lovely stay
My family and I just had a 5 day stay at the lovely Edo Sakura - my husband and I had stayed there 11 years ago during our first trip to Japan - this time we had our 13-year-old daughter with us. We loved the tatami rooms and Japanese style bedding, their delicious breakfasts (the Japanese was our favorite but also enjoyed the western and granola), the friendliness and warmth of the staff, and the overall tranquil and peaceful environment of the hotel and the neighborhood. The public baths were also key after a long day of sightseeing - we all hope to come back in the near future.

Excellent
Charming Ryokan located in a quiet neighborhood, 20 minutes on foot from Ueno Station, 5 minutes from Irynia Station. Super convenient. The staff is lovely and the Japanese breakfasts are excellent. The room was well-equipped and quiet. We had a very good stay upon arriving in Tokyo.

Charming traditional hotel near the Ueno Park and Yanaka Ginza areas. Bilingual staff were fantastic. We had the optional breakfasts every morning. We also paid for the optional laundry service, which was more economical than some US coin-ops. While the rooms are small, the perks included make this a hidden diamond. (We were able to compare with other traditional hotels in the area).

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel. Clean, very nice staff, excellent breakfast, close to a metro station and service was excellent and friendly from arrival to departure. If your back can take the tatami sleeping style then go for it. Mine had a hard time with it so I probably would think twice about going back but not because of the hotel
