A gem of a place

Tarobe is hidden away on a promontory on the outskirts of sleepy Tateyama, but really is a slice of old Japan. The room was equipped with all the usual amenities and was exceptionally clean and well-kept. The real highlight of the stay was dinner in the old private dining room - I'm not quite sure how old, but it very atmospheric and the sashimi set dinner was out of this world. The outdoor natural hot spring baths (there is a private one too) are a must, and the English-speaking owners had lots of recommendations for sightseeing and lunch spots. Overall, a very satisfying stay in a lovely old 'ryokan'.

残念だった。

夏休みに利用しました。一泊２食付き一人３万円、船盛のお刺身、アワビ伊勢エビ付き
どうでもいいような八寸のあと、鯵のさんが焼き（これはまだまし）、とメインイベントの船盛のお刺身は大体は乾いていた、マグロ、鯵、さざえ、鰹、蛸、鯛、金目の炙り、あともう一つ鰤の子供？のような魚の刺身が盛ってあった。美味しかったのは鯵とサザエの刺身のみ、量が多い分、後は苦痛だけ。ひどかったのは鰹、イキグサレる魚を刺身にするんだったら叩きにした方が良いですよ。
アワビは、自分で焼くだけなので美味しかったが、焼きあがったら入れてくださいというバターはとてもまずい、あれはバターではない、マーガリンだ。入れた途端まずくなってしまった。残念。伊勢海老は冷凍なのか、刺身にしたら、真っ白でねちょねちょで、途端に旦那が怒り出し食卓の雰囲気まで悪くなってしまった。千葉まで来て、こんな伊勢海老を食べるとは思わなかった。東京で食べた方が美味いものが食べれる。無理して出すな。ただ「活き」と書いていないからしょうがないという事で、しょうがない、残念。
お盆の時期で一泊８０００円の宿が、お盆の時期で高くなったとあきらめたが、一言言いたいのは、海辺の海水浴の隣接の宿で、泊まった次の日に着替えが出来ない、させないというのは、おかしい。宿の姿勢に疑問を持つ。砂だらけで掃除後に上がられて嫌だと思う事は、よくわかるが、外の水シャワーがあるのだから、小さな脱衣室を設けるだけで、泊り客は雲泥の差の感想を持つと思う。一回こっきりの宿で一生過ごそうと考えているんだと思うが、千葉館山宿全体にレッテルを貼られてしまった。残念。

ほっと一息つける宿です。

ＪＲ館山駅から県道257号を半島の先端に向かって約10ｋｍ、海側にあります（館山駅方面から行くと右側）。第一印象は清潔で奇麗な民宿といった感じです。廊下や部屋は琉球畳なので、スリッパの提供はありません。部屋にはトイレと洗面所はありますが部屋風呂はありません。部屋も水回りもとても奇麗で居心地がよかったです。共同浴場（広さ4～５人）は温泉で、予約制の家族風呂も利用できます。もしかしたら近所のおばちゃんたちがアルバイトに来ているのかもしれませんが、接客態度には好感度が持てました。目の前が海辺で散歩も楽しめます。大勢でにぎやかに過ごした人は、この宿は向いていないと思います。この宿の売りは魚料理です。夕食のメインは刺身の盛り合わせ（約6種類）、かさごのから揚げ、ブリの煮つけでした。肉類やてんぷらがないので一見豪華には見えませんが、刺身は新鮮で、揚げたて作りたてを随時提供してもらえるので、とても美味しく頂きました（完食）。周辺の宿泊施設に比べてコスパが高く、静かに過ごしたい魚好きのグル－プ（特に夫婦）にはお勧めの宿です。週末を避ければリーズナブルな価格で宿泊できると思います。

期待通りでした

「おさしみの宿 たろべ」と謳っているだけあり、期待通りのおさしみが舟盛りで出てきました。それ以外のお料理も美味しく、日本酒がすすみました。お宿の目の前が海だったので、チェックイン後にお散歩に出ました。利用したのが2月だったので、非常に寒かったですが、自然を身体中で感じられ、癒されました。夏は海水浴で賑わっているのかな？と思いました。
