Not comfortable but conveniently located

My room was somewhat stuffy and dim. Moreover, if you are not Japanese, sleeping and sitting on the floor can give you a serious backache. On the other hand, it is very conveniently located near the metro station and 10-minute walk from the promenade with the neon lights. If you are not very demanding in terms of personal comfort, it is definitely a good and inexpensive option.

Wonderful stay

Since this is a hostel, you really cannot expect it to have a lot of facilities or a 24 hour service, but nevertheless, our 3-night stay was great! They have a little kitchen and dining area where you can cook and eat with your family or interact with other guests. Their kitchen in equipped with the necessary items like coffee, creamer, sugar and other condiments which is very important for us coffee drinkers. They do not serve breakfast though but the hostel is very close to a lot of restaurants and a 7/11 so it wouldn’t be a problem.
The rooms were clean and comfy.

Sooooooo Good

The hostel is located very close to Shinsaibashi station, you can get off either exit 7 (stair) or exit 4A (elevator). If you get off from exit 7 turn left and walk straight for 2 blocks and turn left you will see the hostel on the right side. Nearby convenience stores are 7-11, Family Mart, Lawson in walking distance less than 5 minutes walk. Mos burger and Tiger Sugar (bubble milk) are available nearby as well. From the hostel to Shinsaibashi shopping street is very easy and close just keep straight and cross the street about 10 minutes only. This is very convenient for travelers who prefers to stay in the town.
Staffs are extremely helpful and speak English fluently as the hostel claimed that they are international hostel. Staffs are available at 08.00-14.00 and 15.00-22.00 if you arrive late than 10 PM, the hostel will prepare a document, key card and passcode (for enter to the hostel) and if check out before 8AM, staff will let you know where to drop the key. The hostel has a space for luggage room for early arrival and late departure guests.
Rooms ( 4beds with private bathroom ) is better than other hostel i used to stay. Room is non-sound proof so if you have kids this hostel is not suitable for you because kids will make noise. In the room consists of bed sheet, towel 1 per person, hair dryer, shampoo and shower gel. Housekeeping just come and clean the bin, they didn’t make up or touch anything in the room. Hot&cold water is stable. Air conditioning is adjustable.
The hostel has common area with kitchen ( free coffee and tea ) on floor 2 & 7. Washing machine available on 3rd floor with shower room and toilet who book a dormitory room. I have booked a private room for 4 adults with 2 bunk beds and toilet (with bathtub - standing shower) the room is smaller but bigger than what I expected and very clean. Room is not sound proof anymore so you might heard someone talking or walking on the floor.
In conclusion, highly recommended this hostel for traveller who prefers to stay in the city, near Shinsaibashi. Will be back for sure. Kudos

Avoid the double room!

Having seen the great reviews for the hostel we were really disappointed and confused as to how the hostel is rated so highly. We stayed in the private double, which was really really poor value for money. The room wasn't clean, the bed was thin, you had to pay to rent some paper thin towels, it had a shared bathroom, and you had to make the bed yourself. Fair enough if the room was cheap, but it wasn't. For a few pounds extra we could have been staying in a full service brand new hotel.
The 'breakfast' consisted of a tiny bread roll, which was the size and consistency of one you get on a plane. Maybe it was just when we were staying there, but the place was completely devoid of any atmosphere as well. The only redeeming feature of the place is that it is in a great location next to cool shops and bars.
Maybe it's a great place if you're a single traveller in a dorm, but if you're looking for a private room there are much better options out there

Well Designed Dorm Rooms

I have stayed in many hostel dorm rooms and some are not always laid out as well as this one is. I really liked the low bed I got, kind of like a platform bed so altho my backpack wouldn't fit under the bed I was able to stand it up on the platform and the privacy curtain closed around it. The lockable chest next to the bed was also inside the curtain area and worked for a nightstand too. Also inside the bed cocoon area are towel bars and hooks, hangers, bed light, outlets. Just outside the room were the communal vanity sinks and private Japanese toilet rooms. The shower rooms provided soap and shampoo. The bed was very comfortable and the privacy curtain really made it into your own private cocoon. The front staff spoke English and were so helpful in every way. I liked the downstairs kitchen with the long counters for having the beers I got from the nearby 7-11 and could use the free WiFi. The location is superb for going out to eat chicken yakatori, walking to shopping street and to Dotonbori, the real food highlight of this area. Also was able to get here from the airport using public trans as stations are nearby. Downstairs was a great Sake Bar with friendly bartender and I learned what I liked by having the Sake flight. There just aren't enough good things I can say about my 3 night stay here except Thank you Osaka Hana Hostel.
