The hotel room was nice, there is noise transfer a little between rooms. I could hear someone blow drying their hair in the room next to mine. The onsen that is in the hotel on first floor is rather small and a little old looking, fits maybe 4 people at one time. You do get free access to the grand hotel onsen just across the street which is large and very nice. I would suggest skipping the adex onsen and just go to the onsen across the street. It has a nice little bakery when you walk in, good coffee. All the staff were helpful when checking in/out and with the bus schedule. This is very central area to walk to hell Valley and the foot bath. Would recommend and stay again.

Best option

Adex Inn is a great option. For a much lower rate than its sister hotel across the road, you can still access the outstanding shared onsen and breakfast facilities. Adex Inn is recently refurbished and the bedding is good. By Japanese standards, the twin room was not small. Car parking was free and Hell's Valley is less than 10 minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend.

Nice room and bathroom, great location, close to start of hiking trails, shopping street, and the large onsen. Cafe and bakery have a delicious selection. Don’t forget to try the milk or icecream!

Amazing stay. Great breakfast option downstairs, plus we loved using the amenities (Great Bath) next door
