An authentic ryokan

If you are looking for an authentic ryokan experience, Iwamuro Fujiya is a top choice. This establishment combines the charm of the Edo period (the village has 300 years of history) with carefully curated modern comfort.
The rooms are spacious, decorated in traditional style with tatami mats and high-quality futons. There are also Western-style rooms. The facilities, particularly the alkaline water onsen, are of high quality and provide a true moment of relaxation after a day of sightseeing. There is an outdoor bath, but it is very small.
The establishment is quite isolated. Although it is located in a small village, there is not much in the surrounding area, not even a convenience store. The lobby is spacious with a shop and large resting areas. In terms of service, the staff is welcoming and attentive.
The evening kaiseki offers an authentic culinary experience with a small selection of sakes. The quantity and quality were both present. There are many small private rooms. However, I found the breakfast a bit limited in choice. For example, there was no bread...

Hot springs and meals are the best!

I stayed the other day (March). It was so good that I decided to post it while I can remember, and I'm writing it now.
After visiting Yahiko Shrine, I headed there, and was first impressed by their welcome.
Men brought their luggage and greeted us with pleasant greetings.
And a welcome drink. This is a homemade amazake. It's so delicious that you want to buy it and take it home!
Maybe dinner is local, but there are more items and quantities than you can eat! The men who serve it are better.
"Sorry for the volume..." he said with a wry smile. There are many local dishes, elaborate
Even if I was full, I was curiously able to eat it! They were all delicious...
And the most impressive thing was the hot springs. My skin has become smooth in the sulfur-scented hot spring! There was an inner bath and an open-air bath, and the open-air bath was a blissful time where I could gaze at the starry sky in a daze. The powder room (women) was well-equipped and I could spend my time slowly without getting crowded. I liked it so much that I went in a total of three times!
It is a hot spring inn that I definitely want to stay if I get another chance! I'm coming again.

Love everything about this hotel except for one important complaint that the pillows are small and lacking support causing neck pain the next day. Please let me know if you offer other pillows and we will definite back !

Neither good nor bad.

I wanted to go to Rock Room Hot Spring once, so I had an affordable plan this time, so I stayed there. It was a hot spring hotel that was neither impossible nor impossible. I don't like the smell of sulfur coming from my own source.

A top notch onsen and ryokan

The Fujiya is set in the Iwamuro spa area. The accommodation is typical Japanese but regular beds can be provided, if so desired. The food is first class and so are the facilities. There is a beautiful garden attached to the property. If relaxation is what you are after, this is the place. I'm sure that my blood pressure dropped 10 points during my visit. It is surprisingly inexpensive though everything about our experience was luxurious. The surrounding area is quiet and somewhat rural. Good restaurants are within a short walk if you wish to try something different from the hotel offerings. The breakfasts are also pretty decent. Definitely a good experience all round.
