Excellent location, staff, and food. Good to take a walk around the Arashiyama area even at night.

It has a great location along the river in Arishyama. It is close to shops and restesturaunts as well. It offers traditional style Japanese rooms and some fantastic traditional dining as well. We asked for a change to our accommodations and staff were very willing to accommodate. Over all would recommend this hotel.

Excellent location , food but poor wifi

This ryokan is located in an ideal location just 10 min walk from the train station . Also there are about 15 car park lots that u can park your car . It is ideal for visiting Kimono forest and bamboo forest and also fu fu no yu Onsen as well as boating along the Katsura river .
The rooms are of an adequate size with twin beds . Temperature control is good though wifi is poor . The bathtub is lovely with good water pressure . Beds are firm though only one pillow per bed is provided. Two bottles of mineral water are supplied.
Dinner is very good with sukiyaki beef though the appetizers and dessert can be improved .
Breakfast is buffet with rice / porridge and small little dishes as well as onsen eggs .
We skipped the public bath and went to Fu Fu No Yu which was excellent .
Overall a good stay though the wifi needs to be improved .

Nice Japanese style hotel, very helpful. Good traditional breakfast, good location to Arashiyama. Quiet and I enjoyed the communal bath experience.
