This facility converted a resort condominium into a hotel.
Built during the bubble era, it's certainly not new, and you can feel its age in areas like the hallways.
The front desk area, originally the condo's lounge, isn't very spacious.
However, the room size and practicality more than make up for it.
It's so spacious you'd wonder how much it would rent for in Tokyo.
The kitchen, microwave, and refrigerator are all family-sized.
There are absolutely no cutlery items, so you must bring your own.
Above all, the hotel staff are all very pleasant and considerate.
This is a point that even high-end hotels often struggle to achieve.
They can be polite and follow procedures, but you can still sense they're just going through the motions.
Here, though, the staff genuinely care and make you feel like family.
So, the disappointing part is that I wish they could somehow improve the meal quality.
It's satisfactory for a business hotel, but as a resort hotel, it feels like it could be a bit better.
The age of the facilities and the meals are a minus, but otherwise, it's a comfortable hotel.

Stunning apartment style, large family-friendly inn

The hotel looks like a renovated apartment building in a housing complex. At first, I am surprised because the guest rooms go through an outer corridor like an old apartment building. The rooms are about the size of a 3LDK and can accommodate up to five people. The fact that the public bath and swimming pool were in separate buildings and the long wait time for parking was somewhat inconvenient, but once I lived there I could spend my time in the capital.
I stayed there on a holiday in August, but the public baths and buffet halls were not crowded and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast are buffet-style, with deluxe dishes like crab, steak and sushi. The overall taste was orthodox, but the seafood, like sashimi and grilled fish, was delicious, typical of Ito. There are also welcome drinks, ice cream after hot water, and night-singing soba noodles for free.
It was an impressive inn, with a particular attachment to this hotel. The majority were families.

Recommended for families and groups! Very large room & satisfying buffet! Mitame is an apartment building.

It looks like an apartment. Probably it was originally an apartment building. The room was very large, and we stayed in a standard room for two, but in addition to the two bedrooms, there was a large living room, Japanese-style room, kitchen and even a washing machine. The futons in the Japanese-style room make it super comfortable for four people, making it a great place for a group or family. However, since the entrance to the room is the outer corridor, you have to pass to the front of the room when you eat or take a bath in the extreme heat.
The baths were open-air, indoor and sauna, and it didn't feel that big, but the tubs were never full during my stay. I don't know if Ito's water was like that, but it didn't have many characteristics. There is no emulsion, and the amenities are not as great.
In the lobby, game rental, free drinks and free ice cream. There is a kiosk but it is very small. At night, chirping buckwheat noodles are served.
The food was a buffet, with steak, crab and tempura, as well as a wide selection of Ito's own seafood, and although the number of dishes wasn't quite there, it was satisfying.
The rooms were large and the buffet was satisfying, as long as you didn't mind the fact that the hotel was like an apartment building, and that there were steps and damaged areas in some places.

Too bad.

We have been using it many times since about 15 years ago.
My grandchildren used it again after a long absence.
I used to have a good buffet meal and I was looking forward to it again...
The buffet was downsized: the tempura served in the main live kitchen, the steaks were cold and there was crab, but the contents were sloppy. Oh, my God.
We booked for two nights, but it was so bad that we ate out for dinner on the second day. It was a painful expense.
I wasn't expecting breakfast either, but sure enough it was terrible. The rest of the sashimi that would have been served at dinner was chirashi-zushi and smelled raw. The grilled fish is also cold. White rice is bad, too.
It will never be used again.
I'm so sorry.

Hotel and apartment combined

Our family of six shared a room. The room consisted of two bedrooms and a tatami room where we slept on futons. However, the living room was unnecessarily large, and I think 30 tatami mats was more than enough. The kitchen was fully equipped and had simple tableware. There was a bath in the room, but there was also a large hot spring bath in a separate building where you could take your time. Dinner was a buffet with two start times to choose from, but the start time was a long line, so I think it would be better to go later so you can eat at your own pace. Breakfast is not very busy, so it's fine to do it at your own convenience. My complaint about this stay was that there was no information about the parking lot when we arrived by car. We were made to line up for over 10 minutes without any notice, and in the end we were shown to a completely different parking lot about 500 meters away. What's more, they didn't even lend us an umbrella, which was very irritating.
I don't think I'll be using this again, so I'm writing what I think.
