Cà Due Leoni was a fantastic local hotel a short walk from Santa Lucia train station, in the quiet but convenient Cannaregio district (many locals live in this district, so it doesn't have the typical touristy feel whatsoever). We had a very comfortable room, that was ready before normal check-in time. Breakfast was lovely, and we ate in the courtyard.
The hosts Vladimiro & Nicolo were excellent. Any question we had was answered with much detail - we had all the directions for the vaporetti (a few minute walk to the 4.1/4.2 and 5.1/5.2), and a handy local map.
A special note about the hosts: they recovered our daughter's lost phone from the local police, and just today confirmed they shipped it to our home. We can not express enough gratitude for this - thank you both for your help.

Helpful staff. Location perfect, out off the crowds. Quiet place. Decent breakfast. Hotel with enormous potential but lack a little off work in the rooms. Not disappointed but a little sad,because does have the capacity to be a very good hotel.

The staff were very nice but the hotel itself is grim. The shower flooded the bathroom and the frame of the bathroom door was extremely rotted. Everything stunk of mould and stale water. Breakfast was awful. There were dead mosquitoes painted onto every surface. Really unpleasant.

This hotel is a small, typical European room. The main selling point is that it is safe, secure, quiet and Nicolo was the most helpful! Set back away from the crowds, we had no problems.
