Comfort & Elegance

Fantastic comfort and dining in this elegant hotel. We enjoyed 3 days of wildflower filled hiking in the surrounding mountains and evenings in Ortisei. Breakfast and dinners at the hotel were exceptional with stunning views from our table. Great care is shown for guests comfort—from the lovely balcony sitting area with lace tablecloths to the well provisioned bar. After hiking, time in the pool and bubbling spa hit the mark. Other guests had returned year after year. The personal attention from the staff, including the mother daughter owners and wait staff, make this a unique and noteworthy hotel.

Amazing experience at Hotel Grones

We had am amazing experience at Hotel Grones. It's in a great location - easy to walk everywhere. It was quiet and clean. The rooms were very nicely decorated. All of the staff was very friendly. The food was amazing! We already miss Roman's wonderful dishes! Nadia and Monika interacted frequently with us - at meals and while we were leaving and returning to the hotel. You can tell that they (along with their staff) take great pride in Hotel Grones. Everyone made us feel very welcome. We are already talking about returning! Our experience at Hotel Grones was simply outstanding! We would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the Dolomites.

Excellent

Absolutely wonderful hotel, great access, services and facilities, friendly and a warm, pleasant, and deeply comfortable atmosphere. Really special "Gemütlichkeit" there. And the food every morning and evening was simply excellent.

Fantastic Hotel with Gourmet Food

We chose to stay here for 8 nights to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We had been here 7 or 8 years ago and loved it. We were happy to discover it is still a wonderful place to stay.
The rooms are very clean and nice and we had a view of the village plus a little piece of the Dolomites mountains. We were on the first floor so we had a patio. The landscaping is beautiful.
The inside of the hotel is also beautiful, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel Grones is extremely well maintained. There is a pool, hot tub and sauna and parking in an underground garage. (We didn’t make use of any of these.)
We got the half board which I strongly recommend. The food is excellent! As nice as everything is at the hotel, it was the food that brought us back. After a day of hiking, it is wonderful to enjoy a delicious meal without having to walk anywhere. And of course, you want a good breakfast before a day of hiking. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious; there is so much to choose from.
We slept well — never heard a peep from outside or another room. This is helped by the location up on the hill. There is a long escalator with a roof to get up the hill, so it is easy to get into town. It’s maybe a ten minute walk and convenient to all three lifts as well as the main bus stop.
We just love this hotel.
