Perfect 3 nights overlooking The Pantheon.

I spent an amazing 3 nights at Hotel Abruzzi for a solo trip, as a treat for my birthday. I had a great room on the third floor in the separate building across the square. The room appears to have been renovated recently, it was clean, neutral with beautiful wooden floors and a clean modern bathroom. When I checked in, the lady on the desk provided me with a map of Rome and talked me through some of the must see sights - this was really helpful and I used the map and information throughout my stay. The absolute highlight of this room is the balcony that overlooks the piazza and looks directly at The Pantheon, It was a stunning view. It is in a busy area and therefore quite noisy, but this is to be expected and I just enjoyed the free entertainment - from opera singers to violinists! The doors do block out most of the noise once shut. All the staff are friendly and helpful - I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Rome and the hotel was perfect in every way.

You cannot find a better location in Rome! It’s just across the square from the Pantheon and is within walking distance from most of the popular sites. The staff were amazing … they even arranged an early breakfast on the day we departed. Highly recommend!

Staying at this hotel is all about the location. Literally in the heart of Rome. However there are tradeoffs to be aware of, which may give others pause. Wish I had known of them before booking.
1. elevator starts only on the 2nd floor. Housekeeping uses the elevator mostly, so prepare to be walking up and down flights with your luggage (strongly suggest one packs light). 2. Breakfast is down the block at a restaurant (75 feet from the hotel). It is an American breakfast, but the eggs are overcooked and undercooked (yes that is possible). The chocolate croissant is great. The cappuccino not so much. 3. Rooms are clean but have not been renovated in years. 4. Bathrooms and showers are tiny; suggest bringing your own soap as the shower gel is anything but.
The location is fabulous though. So the tradeoffs may be worth it.

Had a take away breakfast which was a nice idea but didn’t care for sandwich
Staff during off hours was not a help. Not knowledgeable
