Pizza up in the Alps!!!

We were on a road trip from Milan to Fuessen in Germany. We avoided the Highway and took the Alpine road through Splugenpass and that was a day to remember!
I highly recommend this journey and I presume you will make it summer!
We passed this little village of Madesimo and stopped at this Hotel restaurant and ordered Pizza.
The cheese, the tomato and the ham were incredibly fresh and the pizza was amazing! These moments in life are what we live for!!!

Good value for money and great kindness

We arrived earlier than expected and during an heavy snowfall but the staff has been extremely helpful and kind. The parking in five minutes was cleaned from snow and ready for our car. A great service we really appreciated. The room and the breakfast are basic but fine and perfectly in line with the price paid. There is a very nice walk that connects the hotel to Madesimo city centre. Totally recommended.

Ristorante ampiamente sotto la media valchiavennasca

Ristorante purtroppo ampiamente sotto la media della valle.
Partiamo dal posto, un bel sit che forse era bello anni fa: attualmente la sala ristorante somiglia più ad un refettorio, molto anni 80/90.
Il cibo: sicuramente la parte migliore, non si mangia male, la scelta è relativamente ampia e ci sono piatti non facili da trovare in valle. Non è nemmeno però estasiante, la presentazione è così così ed in valle si può mangiare assai meglio.
Il prezzo: sicuramente esagerato. Due primi, due secondi, due dolci, mezzo di vino, 70€ circa.
Per quanto mangiato e bevuto avrei speso al massimo, ad esagerare, 50€.

Non malaccio

Abbiamo optato per il menù a prezzo fisso: 20 € per primo secondo e dolce, coperto € 2,50.
Il cibo è abbastanza buono, abbiamo ordinato i pizzoccheri e ci sono arrivati quelli valtellinesi, anziché quelli valchiavennaschi che ci saremmo aspettati.
Salmí con polenta buono.
Il dolce nulla di che.
Personale gentile.
Insomma, non malaccio, ma c'è di meglio in giro.

Enkelt, rent och fint bemötande

Jag och min hustru bodde två nätter i mitten av februari. Vi fann inte något boende i Madesimo. Valde därför detta hotell. Bemötandet var mycket bra. Rummen är rena. Interiören är från 60-70 talet.
Att sängarna är bäddade med kombinationen lakan och syntetfilt, istället för riktiga påslakan drar ner betyget.
Vi promenerade via en upplyst gångväg som slingrade sig uppför berget till Madesimo. Uppför tog det ca 35 min till centrala Madesimo i lugn gångtakt. Hem betydligt snabbare. Om det är snö. Välj skor med bra grepp alternativt broddar. Liknar en osandad cykelväg.
