Fantastic!
What can I say... a fantastic experience.
The hotel is beautiful and kept in splendid condition. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, bright and welcoming, and spotless. The common areas are numerous and very pleasant, including a beautiful, well-equipped garden where you can sit and spend time. The parking lot is large and very convenient.
The staff is attentive, generous, affectionate, always present but discreet, and smiling.
The owners are exquisitely kind and attentive, and they are always available.
Breakfast and dinner are served in a large, bright dining room, with tablecloths of a white so dazzling it is beautiful. Both meals are rich, high-quality, and the food is varied, tasty, and well-prepared. A rich buffet of vegetables and cheeses is always available at dinner.
And then there is the picnic with a barbecue, the visit to the farm where they produce honey and bake bread, the welcome aperitif in the garden, and the guided walks - all part of a weekly program available to guests free of charge.
A magical place, suspended in time. Fantastic.

Wow! We wanted to stay longer! Excellent hotel!
We stayed here for 2 nights whilst walking parts of the Alta Via. What an exceptional hotel - everything about it was outstanding. The welcome from Paul after a long day walking, the room ( suite 4) was so clean and comfortable, the whole hotel was immaculate, spotless and amazing.
On our first night we had a meal in the restaurant which was superb, so tasty! And excellent wine too!
The following day we joined the hotel trip to see a local baker and beekeeper which was very interesting.
We enjoyed another meal on our second evening and again this was excellent.
The whole feel of the hotel is such a welcoming one, Norbert made a point of checking in with us each day which was lovely.
By the time we came to leave we were left wanting more and we are sure we will be back!
Special mention for Paul who was an excellent host - we appreciated the time he took to chat to us and ensure we had a great stay!

Outstanding in every respect. Feels like a home from home that you want to return to asap.
This is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had for ages. Yes it is a lovely old building, that has been carefully modernised over the years so that it’s also up to date and fresh feeling. Yes the location is perfect, for skiing, just across the road, for views, and for easy access to the rest that the village has to offer. Yes the restaurant is first class. We did half board, without great expectations as normally half board ski hotels are about quantity over quality and the food is for eating, not enjoying. The dinners here were all excellent, every course, and with delicious local wines to choose from. And Yes the spa is also immaculate, professional and to à high standard. But what makes this hotel really stand out is the dedication, attention to detail and friendliness of the omni present family owners (third generation) and the employees, most of whom seem to have worked at the hotel for ages. Nothing is too difficult. They were always there to offer advice, make you feel welcome, and be generous. The hotel wasn’t full so we were upgraded which proved a real treat. We will be back!

Back to the Hotel Monte Sella
Returning to Hotel Monte Sella is a magnificent experience. The emotion of amazement and the first time in front of the welcome I have already spoken of, is replaced by that of a renewed security. It is the rediscovering of the comfort of a pleasant experience, it is the feeling of a safe embrace, it is feeling welcomed as at home, with a smile of affection and with the sympathy of friendship. There is nothing formal at Monte Sella, everything is spontaneous and genuine with the whispered elegance of simplicity. It is to find oneself in the family, breathing that atmosphere that Norbert, Anna Cristina with her children, Marta and Paul, are able to transmit to their guests who have become naturally friends. And it is in the wake of this philosophy of hospitality and professionalism that all employees move, always with a smile and ready to listen and meet the needs of guests. Not to mention the cuisine, excellent and well-kept by Chef Andrea, who together with his staff knows how to propose traditional dishes and gourmet novelties and always careful to please everyone. Matteo’s excellent pastry shop knows how to close the meal worthily. All this in a dream scenario such as the Dolomites. In winter and spring the Plan de Corones offers a fantastic ski area with slopes for all tastes. In summer and autumn San Vigilio and the surrounding areas offer what the mountain can mean most. Excursions for everyone, from the easiest to the most adventurous, climbing, biking and much more to discover. Well, it is after any activity you choose to do that it is beautiful and satisfying, as I said, to go back to Monte Sella and maybe dive into the pool or be fascinated by the Wellness Center, because pampering and well-being, here, never end ..
