Ideal for budget trips

Location is close enough to walk in 20 min to Duomo and 30 min to Santa Maria Novella central station. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Rooms and bathrooms need a renovation as they're not at 3 stars standard. It's ideal for budget trips with short no. of nights. No air conditioning or window nets.

Awful

Would not call this a hotel at all. If there was a 0 rating I would give it that but maybe 1 star is right because the location is quite good. The 'double room' was two camping beds pushed together, and the staff said this was the same for every room so I feel sorry for all the guests here. If I wanted to camp I would have brought a tent!! We ended up sleeping on the mattresses on the floor which was more comfortable for us. The bathroom was tiny and smelled of sewers, the windows were so thin that it sounded like you were outside the entire time. The shower was above the toilet with a drain on the floor so the bathroom was soaking wet after a shower. No working plug sockets, most of which were hanging off the wall anyway. Room hadn't been painted in about 20 years by the looks of it. Had to leave keys at reception every time we left and trying to buzz back in at night took about 15 minutes. Avoid at all costs, even if this was a 'hostel' I would say it's bad for one, never mind a hotel. Can't see this ever improving as staff don't seem motivated at all.

! Ideal for budget travellers

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor I WAS really worried about my stay here. On first impressions it's dated but the truth is the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was great-12 minute walk to the duomo, about a 5min walk to see David in the Galleria.. yes the room needs to be painted (badly) and the plugs looked like they've seen better days but the bed was comfortable, there was a smell in the toilet but after walking around Florence for a few days it's seems to be the smell from the city pipes(may be some bleach or air freshner might help) - it's a budget hotel in an expensive city. Idea for students or backpackers. Some tips -
1. Bring flip-flops for the shower as it's a wet room type shower so the whole area gets wet
2. If your a light sleeper bring ear plugs because lots there is a lot of traffic during the week.
3. If you book room only there are plenty of places on the walk in to the centre to pick up coffee and a pasterie even a Mcdonalds and a subway (I didn't go in to either).

Very low standards. Would not go back.

Stayed for three nights and couldn't take one proper shower because there was no hot water what so ever. Furthermore, the toilet didn't flush properly or more than once every hour. We alerted the staff three times about the water-issues, but it was never fixed... Beds were uncomfortable and due to the lack of air-conditioning we had to keep a window open which led to mosquitos in the room. Towels were never switched, neither were the sheets.
I've payed less for much better hotel-experiences. Although, the breakfast was decent.

Terrible hotel, nice service

Terrible shower, terrible bed and pillow, there was ants and mosquitos inside but Service was really really friendly. Aircondition cost 5e/day. Room was clean. Breakfast was a joke and coffeemachine coffee was so bad that I couldnt drink that. I think that hostel is better word than "hotel"
