The star of the east

Excellent service and location. Especially Ibrahim was instructful. A place where all cultures meet. Open to all nationalities. Lowest cost hostel and hotel in Jerusalem. Closer to Damascus Gate, Allah Akbar.

Palm Hostel cancelled my booking and charged me anyway

I booked with Palm Hostel in Jerusalem 30.01.'26 to 5.02.'26 through Agoda agency. Booking was confirmed and it seemed fine. On the 29th, 1 day before I was to arrive they sent me an email cancelling my booking because they said the Hostel was closing and could not accommodate me. Palm Hostel charged my card anyway. It has been impossible to get a refund despite unanswered emails to the Hostel and to Agoda agency. I advise everyone to avoid Palm Hostel and Agoda.

Worst Hostel experience (after 1 year of travel)

DO NOT GO THERE. It was the worst experience after one year of travel. When I arrived at the hostel, the owner refused to give me WiFi while I wanted to check my reservation. The rooms were inhospitable with no proper mattress (more of a wooden plank), spotted bedsheet, no upper sheet, no AC, no locker, no key for the dormitory either. We went in front of the bathroom and a bad smell came out, with the floor being very dirty. As two females, we felt very vulnerable in this hostel and decided to leave without even staying. Our main concern was safety. The hostel decided to charge us for the 3 nights without listening to our complaints regarding safety and security. The owner does not care about our experience, does not care about reviews either (I of course emailed him before writing this review).

Great place

Great location, great place, amazing staff.
We were just staying in Jerusalem for one night and this place was perfect. So much so that we’re going to go back again to stay here. Perfect for a simple and affordable stay.
