NOT REALLY SURE...........

Sandyhills is everything that has been said in previous reviews. The house is lovely ( although in a backwater )...perfectly clean...and well equipped. Mary, the owner, is very helpful, although very opinionated. When I tried to order a ' full Irish ' breakfast I was told that because most of her guests were from ' the continent ' she didn't serve sausage, baked beans or black pudding. How ridiculous !!! What we did have was OK but obviously had been pre-cooked and left on a hotplate so was a bit dry. Pancakes were different and good, but, why only banana ? Strange.... Rush itself is a pleasant place, but nothing there to draw you back. There are better places within a short drive however. All in All. The place is OK. Would we go back ? NOT REALLY SURE....

Like coming home!

Read review after review and we settled on this B&B just outside of Dublin because of its ease to the airport and the motorway because we were renting a car. Little did we know what a pleasure our stay would be. Mary is by far the best host we have ever had the pleasure to stay with. Such a caring and loving person and one heck of a cook! Waking up and coming down to the breakfast we asked for the night before was such a pleasure. The presentation and time Mary puts into each meal for the price of the stay is incredible. Our room was clean, large and had all the things to make our stay very comfortable. During midway through our stay we flew to Spain for a few days and Mary packed us a breakfast and also the day of our departure. Mary also told us some great places to visit and that is what we did and the advice was spot on. One of our best stays anywhere and the best host by far. If you visit take the time to get to know Mary and soak up her knowledge of the area and the history of Ireland and make sure to enjoy her breakfast made with love. We paid in cash as on request and was not an issue as my bank provided me with euros. Take that in mind. Not really an issue but pre-plan. The place was spotless and a great neighborhood for a walk to the beach or the market. The locals are great as well.

Superb first night of 4 night break in Ireland

Friendly greeting, wonderful accommodation and super breakfast including home cooked scones and soda bread! Could not fault host Mary's helpfulness from where to eat locally for dinner through to places to visit in the local area. Truly wonder lady and guesthouse.
