Almost perfect!

So close to being the perfect stay. The rooms are lovely, the building is gorgeous and the bed is comfortable. The tv is very small, that’s my only complaint.
Check in was easy and relaxed, however I will say, the receptionist seemed to be a teenager checking us in and whilst he was very polite and a credit to the family, it would’ve been nice to have met the owners.
Breakfast was nice, the we went for the traditional Irish breakfast ( it replaced the black pudding with a hash brown), it was all very tasty.
Would definitely return.

Easy walk to downtown Doolin - amazing views!

My husband and I chose this place while visiting Doolin. It’s right in the middle of Doolin, with maybe a 8-10 minute walk to downtown shops.
The sidewalks in the downtown area are very narrow, and the cars driving through are literally within an arms reach so be careful!
The Lodge has both bed & breakfast rooms (where breakfast is included) and regular rooms (where you can request breakfast for the next morning).
When you first enter the room, there’s a small entryway with a closet, coat hooks, mirror, and a pack and play and high chair if traveling with small children.
The room that we had was actually more of a small apartment. There was a full kitchen, with dishes, coffee and tea, sugar, and milk in the fridge.
There was also a couch with a TV and fireplace.
The bathroom was equipped with a large bathtub and a small square shower. Two of the shower doors slide back for you to get in, and then slide back at a 90-degree angle. There’s enough room for one (skinny) person to fit comfortably. Even so, I kept banging my elbows on the door whenever I lifted them to wash my hair.
The bedroom had one large double bed, with a smaller twin bed across from it. There was a built in shelving unit surrounding the bed with an outlet, which included a USB slot so you don’t have to use an adapter with your phone charger.
The best part of the room was the view. Now this isn’t in every room, but this particular room had a balcony that you could step out on, and see the animals grazing in the fields, the downtown area, etc. Amazing views! I just wish there was a chair out there so you could actually sit out there if you wished.
The breakfast provided was so good. There was a small table with a la carts items. Juice, yogurt, granola, some pastries.
I ordered the full Irish breakfast - black and white pudding, sausage, egg, tomato, came with toast. Yummy. My husband got some scrambled eggs with tomato, he just wished the tomato was grilled, not just sliced and put on the plate.
I would definitely recommend this place if staying in Doolin. Every other building is a bed & breakfast, so there’s a lot of places to choose from, but I liked the central locality of this place plus the view from our room.

Do not go there

So angry as an irish person bringing friends from abroad to my lovely country. €1600 for 4 nights. Absolute rip off. Accommodation so substandard. Bathrooms like something out of the 80's. Kitchen a joke. 4 plates not matching. 2 wine glasses. I honestly can't write anything else. Rip off ireland at its best. Shame on the owners.

Louise, a year later and you are still angry, oh dear. We have over 700 positive reviews on the platform you used to book, in over 7 years of hosting, so it is quite disappointing to read yours. To clarify, your information reads: "Welcome supplies of tea/coffee/milk/toilet rolls etc are supplied on arrival, any extras required during your stay may be bought locally" we think Louise expected these items to be in a basket and presented to her, personally, we find it makes more sense to leave the toilet rolls in the bathroom and the kitchen supplies in the kitchen etc etc but totally respect your opinion on this. Guests to date have been delighted that they have all the basics on arrival. For the benefit of the reader, the kitchen is fully supplied with all delph, glasses and cutlery, a family of 8 people stayed for a week immediately before this guests arrival and I know that they were not eating from 4 plates all week long. You were 10 steps away from reception and you could see house keeping coming and going to our B&B rooms and apartments each day during your stay. You never asked for any extra delph and glasses which is the time you’d imagine to mention it?
On the whole, we could put this one negative review down to you perhaps having a bad day and take solace in the hundreds of positive reviews we have, not to mention all our returning guests who book directly with us and stay year after year and have done so for over 20 years since we opened, many of whom have become friends. But reading your other reviews, it paints a picture, you know, TripAdvisor can also be used for positive reviews just so it doesn’t look like you are a serial complainer, your reviews plus the fact that one of your guests gave us polar opposite feedback, gives us a different perspective. It is probably best for you, that you have decided not to stay again, however, we would be more than happy to welcome you back should you change your mind. Wishing you well, Deirdre and Niall

The Lodge, Doolin

The owner could not have been more accommodating. Our apartment was very roomy, which is a nice change when you're traveling. We had a scenic view from our rooms, and could walk to several excellent restaurants in 5 minutes. Prices very reasonable.
Their breakfast was also quite nice. Self-serve fruit juices, granola, fruit, and yogurt, as well as a menu that you can order eggs, French toast, pancakes, etc. Very substantial!
We also walked to the ferry to catch it, about 20-25 minutes, very convenient. Doolin can be quite congested.
