Orau Inn: lovely place in Harau Valley!

Among the many homestays in Harau Valley this one is highly recommended: around 7 or 8 cottages and rooms in basic, authentic style, in a beautiful garden with a view on the Harau stone 'walls'. The family that runs the place is very friendly and helpful. They arrange transport and guides for you. The cook makes nice meals.

A beautiful surprise

Had a wonderful couple of nights in the Harau Valley in West Sumatra. Stayed at smaller place that have simple bungalows with thoughtful touches in a beautiful garden facing amazing cliff faces. The family are lovely and daughter Yola is a great guide and full of local knowledge especially about the culture of the region. The food was tasty, fresh and good, they bake cakes and bread which is a nice add to the usual menus. They can also organise onward transport. Definitely recommend Orau Inn.

Spotless, spacious, beautiful setting, highly recommended.

I stayed here last minute with my husband and three children, all under 8. This is a stunning setting, spotless accommodation with a really nice vibe and super nice owners. I really recommend this place.
It was quiet, clean, spacious and very reasonably priced. We saw so many amazing butterflies, insects and lizards and my husband took the children for a walk up the road to the waterfall and saw monkeys. Really loved it here.
