Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Avoid this place.
I made a fully paid reservation for two rooms from 30 January to 6 February 2026 through Hotels.com, and received a confirmed itinerary before traveling to Amritsar.
However, when I arrived at Hotel Sun Star in Tarn Taran, the staff simply told me there was no booking in their system.
I showed them my Hotels.com confirmation and proof of payment, but the hotel staff still refused to honor the reservation. There was no attempt to help, no effort to verify the booking, and no solution offered.
Imagine arriving late at night in an unfamiliar place with your family, believing you have a confirmed hotel room, only to be told that your reservation does not exist.
Because of the hotel’s failure to honor the booking, I had no choice but to urgently find alternative accommodation. I even had to pay INR 8,000 for another stay from 3–5 February, which should never have happened if the hotel had handled reservations properly.
This situation caused serious inconvenience, stress, and unnecessary financial loss.
A confirmed reservation should mean something. Unfortunately, at this hotel it clearly does not.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend travelers stay somewhere else. There are many other hotels in the area that will actually respect your booking.
