A Perfect Escape at Forestdale – Luxury, Nature, and Warm Hospitality
We recently had a truly beautiful vacation in Coorg, made unforgettable by our choice of Airbnb stay. We stayed at a stunning property called Forestdale in Virajpet, and it was our very first visit to the area.
Our host, Mr. Sunil Uthappa, was gracious, attentive, and simply exceptional. He spent time with us on the spacious lanai, sharing fascinating stories that made our stay even more special. His hospitality was warm and genuine throughout.
The vegetarian meals were absolutely fantastic—thoughtfully prepared and perfectly tailored to our preferences. The cooks were wonderful, ensuring every detail was taken care of and every need met with care.
As we live in the USA, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent Wi-Fi connectivity, even in such a serene and remote location. The fast internet made it easy to stay connected via WhatsApp and FaceTime, adding to our peace of mind.
Forestdale itself is breathtaking, offering spectacular views of the coffee estates, lush forests, and the distant Western Ghats. Each room is incredibly spacious, with large, beautiful bathrooms and fantastic balconies that invite you to soak in the scenery. The property is modern, impeccably maintained, and exceptionally clean.
One night while sitting on the Lanai, we were treated to a spectacular lightening show.
Morning hikes through the surrounding landscape were refreshing, and the sunsets were simply unforgettable. The sound of the forest and the different bird sounds while sitting on our lanai were peaceful and serene.
Thank you for such a memorable and rejuvenating vacation. We will most definitely return to this spectacular place in the future.

book at your own peril- No cooks, helpers, security - just rooms - please do not go by website. The homestay is not meant for families. Not a professional homestay and go not go by ranking/stars as there is no justification

A stunning experience
Had a wonderful stay. The view from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are very spacious and equipped with all modern amenities. The furniture and the decor of the place is very aesthetic. The tranquility gave us the much needed rejuvenation from the humdrum of our busy life.

Great location , very pleasant stay
We had a very good vacation at this place for 2 days, ideally located a few kms outside Virajpet . what we liked was the panoramic view from the balconies , very spacious rooms , tasty food made to order & the great hospitality of the hosts.
It can get hot though midmorning inside the rooms in summer , cooler outside & we were told that AC's are being installed soon
great place to relax with a book or just enjoy nature , can take some scenic drives or go for a trek to chomakund hills which is just 45 mins drive away on winding interior roads

Pleasent peacefull homestay in the countryside
We stayed 2 nights. Our room was spacious & clean. It's a lovely homestay in the middle of Coffee plantations and Rice fields. Beautiful nature all around, quiet atmosphere. We had 2 tasty dinners. The owner as well as the couple who is running the place for him were very pleasant and helpful.
