A Humble Stay with Everything You'd Possibly Need

According to Booking.com, Hideout is one of the top stays for solo backpackers and since I'm going on a solo trip, I immediately booked 2 nights and it turned out to be a good choice.
It's very close to the Mall Road/ Chowrasta so most of the shopping stores, famous restaurants are just few meters walk. But make sure to prepare your lungs and legs because you'll be mostly walking uphill and downhill. If you're not used to high altitude, better acclimatize yourself first, else, if you exhaust yourself, you'd be grasping for air most of the time.
The landmarks you could take note of to easily find the hostel are the big TV satellite and Tom and Jerry Cafe. The name suits it very well because you won't see it from the main road so once you reach Campbell Cottage, you just have to walk towards the road on your right and look for the sign - Hideout.
From the outside, it looks very humble. It has a homey feeling, like a place where you can hangout with friends and chill. Most people book a bed in their dormitory but I booked a private room. My room has a comfortable bed with soft linen and pillows, table and couch and a private bathroom. It could fit 3 people. You won't be needing any AC but if you're not used to the cold weather, rent a heater for INR 300 a day and it'll warm even your ex's coldest heart.
The hostel has its own cafe and it's open from 8am to 8pm daily. They have huge selection of food and drinks so after a long day out sight seeing, you can grab a bite here, rest and enjoy the warm and cozy ambiance. I ordered their honey glazed chicken, caffe latte, peach juice and wai wai ramen. If you can't tolerate spicy food, make sure to ask first because the food can get very spicy.
The wifi has a strong signal within the entire property so uploading all your photos and videos from your trip is just a breeze. This was very helpful to me. I could make a video call to my loved ones without any lag or connection issues.
If you only packed light and you need to wash clothes, better give it to the staff, there's a pricelist listed in the room for each type of clothing. You can give it any time of the day and you get it the next morning. It's cheap and it smells clean and fresh once you received it. Everyone is discouraged to wash clothes in your room because water is scarce in Darjeeling.
The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I got everything I needed in my stay - comfortable bed, hot water, heater and good food and relaxing ambiance. Right outside my room, I could see the amazing views of the hill station but sadly, Mt. Kanchenjunga didn't show up. It would have been a good vantage point.
So if you're looking for a cheap, safe and comfortable place to stay which is close to almost everything, don't forget to consider Hideout. It's worth every penny!

Cold

Very challenging to find, my room was cold, the shower was cold despite requesting and I was locked in during the morning so missed the sunrise. Confused why this place has good reviews, spend the extra and get a hotel

“NEVER EXPECT THE BAD EXPERIENCE AT FIRST TIME”

The hostel is in a decent location, but honestly, it's not worth the price. The facilities are very basic, and for what they charge, you can find much better options around Darjeeling. Not good value for money at all. Wouldn't recommend if you're on a budget and Don't Book a City Sight tour from the Hostel,Book direct from Sharing Office.
It's my One of the Bad experience and I came from Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

Female run fantastic place in the heart of the city at very nominal rates. Alcohol is not allowed there, good is good. Road is steep as it's hilly area, so suggest to take a cab or coolie of you luggage. Best place if you are traveling solo and looking for nice place on budget. I stayed in the 5 bed dorm.

It’s really good

This place is good especially for people who want to stay cheap. The rooms are clean, washroom is great with hot water. The best part is the food that they make. Option wise, it’s limited but too tasty. Bhumika and her brother are good host. The view of Mount Kanchenjunga is stunning. Go for it guys
