Greetings!
You were very well aware of the bad weather conditions at the time of your stay. We provided you with a big pillar style heater. If you required more heaters, you could have placed the request on the reception. We would also like to correct you that hot water is available 24x7 at our property. 7-11 is the time when the water is supplied via Solar Panel system. For rest of the time period, hot water is always there. You were also free to choose another property at that day because we did inform that we are currently short of staff as they were busy attending to people who were affected by snow. You just wanted to have a cheap stay that day and agreed to stay with us and the fact that you took our time to write such a review is not appreciated.
For us the comfort of the guest is of utmost priority.
Warm regards,
Team SSR

Worst check in experience of my life...ever
Read on.
So we drive to this resort after a 15 hour drive from Shimla...a 13 member large family (3 couples, 6 kids in the 2-15 yrs bracket, 1 senior citizen)..our nightmare started the min we reached within 500 mtrs of this lousy resort.
The approach road was extremely dangerous and unmotorable, more so as we were in a 16 seater tempo.
Upon checking in at 130am on a freezing Xmas night the sleepy disinterested front office person flatly refused to give portable room heaters. He said nothing can be done now, come back in the morning. This was despite us having given specific instructions prior to travel asking for heaters given it’s peak winter here. We had to literally beg n plead. Somehow managed to get 2 heaters. Other 2 rooms slept without heaters.
In the room there was no soap, no coffee or tea satchet. Even roadside dhabas have better basic amenities.

Greetings from Hotel Shining Star, Khajjiar!
We regret the inconvenience caused to you at the time of check-in. Let me reply to everything you pointed out one by one:
1. The Hotel is situated in the forest area and as per the rules of the forest department, we have to turn off the excessive lighting and music by 10PM around the Resort. Hence, calling it lousy is a bit harsh.
2. The approach road is also under the forest area and we being a commercial property aren't allowed to make any changes to it. It is an un-metalled forest road only which also got affected due to extreme snowfall during the duration of your stay. However, our team manually cleared the pathway for all the vehicles approaching the Hotel. Your driver on the contrary was very scared to drive on that 500 mtr terrain which again I emphasize, was completely safe for both small cars or even tempo travellers like yours. You may take this fact into consideration as well.
3. Your group arrived at 2:30 in the late night (not 1:30), our team on the night duty immediately helped you with your check-in. The owners personally were awake to make sure everything went coordinated. At that time of the night, it's not right to expect someone to be all loud and cheerful.
4. Your agent did not inform us about the heater requirements for your group at all. Had the agent informed us in advance, we would have given you the heaters. Once you asked us about the heaters, we did arrange the heaters for you which were available. Rest others were already being used by other guests. Nonetheless, to make up for that, we did give you extra blankets for the night. Would request you to please tell about your needs to your agent or the hotel property in advance anywhere you go next time. A little transparency goes a long way for both, the client as well as the host. You also forgot to mention that, we gave you more heaters the next day for your stay but you chose to check out despite of us giving you more options and amenities as required by you.
5. Sir, there were 2 soaps each kept in the washrooms along with shampoos as well. Tea and coffee sachets are provided on customer's demand. Hot water kettle is provided in every room. Henceforth, comparing our Hotel property to dhabas is again uncalled for and exaggerated because last time we checked, dhabas do not provide super deluxe accommodation or soaps or separate tea/ coffee sachets on complimentary basis.
It is very unfortunate that we did not stand out as good as one of the 100+ hotels' you have stayed at before us. We will make sure to make you feel welcomed if you choose to visit us again!
Warm regards,
Team SSR
