Fantastic location, just a short walk to the centre of Reykjavik. Also very close to bus stop #4, which is a pick-up/drop-off point for the Flybus and most of the local tours. Our room had a pleasant view over the harbour. It was also clean, had a nice bathroom, good bed, free safe, and everything else you'd expect in this price range. No noise issues. We didn't buy the hotel breakfast. It was nice having a popular bakery and restaurant/bar (who will deliver online orders to your room) on the ground floor. Recommended.

Great location

Our first visit to Iceland, we stayed in the Exeter Hotel for a week. The location is great, within a short walk of the city centre and very close to bus stop #4 if you're not driving. Our room was clean and to the standard expected, no noise problems, perfect for our needs and we enjoyed having a view over the harbour. Recommended.

Excellent location

Reykjavik is such a wonderful, walking city/town and Exeter is in a perfect location to go around on foot but also a 3 minute walk to #4 bus stop for further outing. The restaurant on premise is good, it's beautiful inside, cozy rooms and friendly staff. If arriving in the early morning hours as we did around 2:00 in the morning, make sure to let the hotel know so they know to expect you to let you in.

Great location, EXCELLENT customer service

We stayed here for a pre-cruise night. The hotel is nice, with an industrial feel (no closet in the room, but there are hangers on a bar on the wall. The location is great -- everything we wanted to do in Reykjavik was within walking distance. And the included breakfast was nice. There is a little bit of street noise we could hear from our first floor room, but it wasn't objectionable to us.
But the best thing I have to say about the hotel is their customer service. When we got to the front desk to check in after the 45 minute taxi ride from Keflavik airport, my wife discovered that she'd left her passport and phone, which were in a small purse, in a restroom at the airport. Van, at the front desk, immediately called the airport security department, and explained the situation. Airport security/lost and found were quickly able to locate the items. And to save us an extra round trip to the airport, Van arranged for a trusted taxi driver to pick up the purse and bring it to the hotel, and helped us write an email to security giving permission for the taxi driver to pick the item up. So we only paid for an extra taxi ride for the purse, and did not have to go to the airport ourselves to pick it up. This saved us money (one way taxi from KEF to Reykjavik was about $150 USD), and allowed us a couple of extra hours to explore Reykjavik. But most importantly, it also saved us a lost passport in a foreign country -- which might have been a trip ending disaster.
Van also helped us find a taxi after checkout when it was very difficult to do so because of traffic restrictions for a marathon.
I really can't say enough good things about this customer service. We'd definitely stay here again if we return to Reykjavik.
