These cabins were in such a peaceful and beautiful location, yet still close to the town of Höfn. We loved the nicely appointed cabins. Super quiet.

Great stay, self check in is required before 9pm other than that nothing to worry about, scenic location great hot tub open 24hrs, free breakfast.

Warm Cabin and Bug Issues

We loved the view from our cabin, but the temperature inside made our stay uncomfortable. Even though it was a mild day in the mid‑60s, the cabin was very warm when we arrived. When we opened the window to cool it down, a large number of bugs came in, which quickly became a hassle. Later that night, we woke up feeling overheated again, but couldn’t open the window without more bugs entering. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to rest, and we would likely look for a different place to stay next time.

Quiet country accomodations

Peaceful country setting. Our cabin was spacious, compared to other lodgings we had in Iceland. Nice fully equipped kitchen. My only complaint is that the it would be helpful to include some instructions on using the electric range. It took me awhile to figure out .. I think the illuminated display may have been malfunctioning?

Keep windows closed, watch out for biting midges

This is one of a number of cabin places we've stayed at. It's okay but we're leaving early. Biting midges kept me awake last night, manager says they're normal and nothing can be done, but I'm not staying for another night of it. Apparently closing the windows in summer prevents this but no one told us and once they're in, they're in. Window sills were full of them this morning. Beyond that, Hofn is the least tourist-friendly place we've stayed on the ring. Grocery store but no place to eat breakfast. A few places for dinner. It's not the best stopping place on the ring. Only giving 3 stars because the cabins themselves are fine aside from the midges.
