A peaceful and friendly place
I stayed at the Coyaba Beach Resort from 21-28 April 2026 (via Virgin Holidays), for my best friend's wedding. Everything was handled really well.
The resort is a very peaceful place, but also offers plenty of adventure if you desire it.
The rooms are tidy, simply equipped but everything you really need. The rooms are cleaned daily, and fresh towels brought for both bathroom and beach. The rooms have both air conditioning and fans so you can keep nice and cool.
The food is really nice, especially the fish. There is a wide range of options on offer, with buffet or a la carte menu choices, and two dining areas. You're also never far from a bar at Coyaba! There is even a Swim Up Bar in the pool, where you can enjoy a cocktail of the same name. All the cocktails were nice, as well as other drinks on offer. If you prefer the beach, there is a bar there too, as well as a tap to wash off sandy feet which is a welcome extra touch.
The beach itself is wonderful, well kept and full of life beneath the surface of the water - if you enjoy snorkeling, green turtles can be seen as well as many types of fish. You can also borrow a kayak or paddleboard, or for the keen sailors the Resort has its own Hobie Catamaran. (You can also book scuba diving and boat trips from there.)
Away from the sea, the hotel offers a gym facility and massage room. There is regular evening entertainment (music) and the option of guided nature walks by arrangement.
The gardens are beautiful with many flowering plants, coconut palms, and you may spot a small lizard or local birds.
We were made to feel welcome from start to finish. The staff are very attentive and friendly, especially Vanburn who was outstanding and added a personal touch, always making sure any concerns we had were taken care of.
The Resort is within easy reach of local facilities and the town, and not far from the airport, although at no point did any of these feel intrusive.
All in all I had a very pleasant stay at Coyaba Beach Resort. For me the trip to Grenada will likely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but if I am fortunate enough to return, I hope to stay at Coyaba again. As it was, for many of the other guests it was not their first time at the resort.

Hotel is Under Renovation - No Warning Given. Found Out on Arrival!
The Coyaba was the 2nd part of our weeks vacation stay in Grenada. We had stayed there in 2023 and loved it! The expectations were high on our end. This was NOT the case this time. Come to find out upon arrival AFTER checking in, that there is a Major Job Site underway in the center of the property (hammering, sawing, grinding and and air compressor going from 9am to 7pm). No matter where you are on the property, you are experiencing it. See photos.
We booked the Coyaba in late May of '26 through their website. After we checked in and discovered the hotel Job Site, we went directly to mgt. We told them that we had no idea the hotel was under renovation. The GM immediately claimed that they had been informing tour agencies and so on for at least 3 months and we should have known. We responded that we booked the hotel directly through their website and there was / is nothing on there that informs people of the hotel being under renovation. We even pulled up the current website to show them. WE MADE IT CLEAR TO MANAGEMENT THAT IF WE HAD KNOWN OF THE CURRENT WORK BEING DONE TO THE PROPERTY, WE WOULD NEVER HAVE BOOKED IT! After our expressing our shock and disappointment, the GM, although never taking any accountabilty for the hotel, said that was a possible oversight. He did say, what can we do, to make it better? He then offered a much better room, 2 free massages (which we didn't use) & 50% off the rate. It was appreciated, but it could not replace our valuable vacation time. Instead of vacation it was merely toleration. It was also conveyed by us to the GM that they should have shut the place down completely until they completed the construction project. Maybe that wasn't his decision, but the owners / operators (The Chermans) could have done so and avoided this type of situation.
We were then told that renovations were expected to be completed by the end of the month. OK, what good does that do us currently, as our trip ends on the 25th? Looking on where they currently are, it's extremely doubful that they will make that deadline.
In doing a review, it wouldn't be fair to note the positives about the Coyaba: the lovely and well maintained landscaping, the polite, friendly & accommodating service staff, the Beach Bar (The Cove) and the beautiful beach are still wonderful attributes of the resort. See photos.

Disappointed on my 30th Birthday
I left feeling deeply upset, discouraged and disappointed after my experience at Coyaba on the afternoon of 1st August (Emancipation Day).
As a British-Grenadian returning to celebrate my 30th birthday alone, I had hoped for a peaceful and memorable evening. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I had.
I was sitting in the garden, fully dressed and transferring images from my camera while waiting to order dinner. Before doing so, I had already received permission from reception to be there. Despite this, the main security guard approached me for a second time and repeatedly questioned why I was on the property.
I explained again that reception had given me permission to be there and that I intended to have dinner. I also shared that I had already had a difficult start to my birthday and simply wanted to enjoy a quiet evening. Rather than feeling reassured, I was met with a blank stare and told he was “trying to understand what I was doing there.”
At that point, I felt dismissed, singled out and deeply uncomfortable. I even explained that this was not an experience I would expect at any other hotel. I told him that if I was not welcome, I would have preferred to be politely asked to leave instead of repeatedly having my presence questioned. Although he said he was not asking me to leave, he continued to challenge why I was there.
Feeling embarrassed and unwelcome, I packed up my camera and belongings and left without having dinner.
As an influencer, model and singer-songwriter based in London, I regularly visit and work with upscale hotels, restaurants and hospitality venues. I have never experienced anything like this before. What should have been a special milestone birthday became another upsetting memory.
I sincerely hope Coyaba reviews how situations like this are handled. Every guest should feel welcomed, respected and treated with dignity, regardless of whether they are staying overnight or simply visiting to dine.

Loved it
I felt I had to post this. We love the Coyaba. We were completely Tobago lovers but headed out to Grenada because of better flights to Grenada. We went twice from the uk in 2025 (and once took our adult children) and twice in 2026. We absolutely love it, so chilled and nothing too much trouble. I didn’t think the staff remembered us much as we’re pretty low key, but they served me a crème brûlée every evening even when it wasn’t on the menu. Fabulous beach, fabulous service. Loved the staff/ guest cricket match. If you want a comfy, cool room with a chilled vibe and feel completely safe and relaxed please go to the Coyaba. X oh and it’s just over the road from kfc and spiceland mall too! Bonus!

Review of restaurant only
This review is only for the restaurant. We were not hotel guests but dined there one evening. The food was terrible (and I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever said that about somewhere I’ve eaten while on vacation!). Everyone in our group left over half of their meal uneaten. So I recommend reading other reviews to figure out if the hotel is for you - it seemed nice enough as a more budget friendly choice on Grand Anse - but I would definitely not buy the food inclusive package if that’s an option.
