Wonderful Relaxing Stay in beautiful Skiathos
A big thank you to V and all his amazing staff at Oniro Hotel Skiathos. Visited end of June beginning of July. We had the best week at this lovely hotel. Stayed here many times but this was the first time since hotel changed ownership. The upgrade to rooms, pool, restaurant and service are outstanding. Every visitor is welcomed and valued. V lights up the whole place when he arrives and whilst on site. Thank you for making our holiday so memorable

Avoid the minibus
Whilst the hotel is very nice, be prepared (at least in summer) to pay for taxis to the town and back. Although the hotel puts on free minibuses, they have no air conditioning, the windows remain closed, and cram up to 14 people in them at a time. It has been 40 degrees today and it is utterly unbearable. I emplore the hotel to invest in the air conditioning being re-gassed or better yet, new vehicles. Ruins the experience if you go out for the evening.

A week with panoramic sea views!
We enjoyed a wonderful seven night stay at Oniro Hotel. From start to finish, the staff were very friendly and polite. We thought it was a lovely touch for the manager/owner to greet all new arrivals and offer some information about the hotel, surrounding areas and recommendations.
The view from the pool was one of the best I’ve ever seen! The photos do not do it justice. It is a totally panoramic sea view with sun all day. There is no need to reserve a sunbed, and plenty of comfy outdoor seating for those who prefer shade.
We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant twice and the food was lovely. One of the evenings was the event night under the stars with Greek music and entertainment. We would highly recommend trying the food here. Especially the risottos! We stayed bed and breakfast and there was a good selection and quality of food from 07:30 until 10:30. There was a lunch menu running all day. I especially appreciated that all cocktails and alcoholic drinks were made using premium branded spirits - you must try the mojito!
The room was clean, neutral in decor and peaceful. The air conditioning was so good we had to turn the fan speed down! We were also pleased to have a fridge and free of charge safe in the room. Every morning after breakfast, we arrived to find the bed made and fresh towels. I cannot find any fault with the room - even though ours was ‘garden view’ we still had a partial sea view from the terrace.
This was our first time visiting Skiathos and we were not disappointed. The location was good for peace and quiet as the hotel is positioned high up in the hills. The positive is the amazing view. The negative is the steep climb from the beach (20 minute walk). However, we were told there was a bus service if needed.
Most days, we made use of the free shuttle bus into Skiathos town run by the hotel. There are a handful of morning and evening drop off/pick up times which are bookable at reception to reserve your space. You must book a day in advance as it fills up fast! This is our only criticism - it would have been great to have more frequent shuttles into the town in the evening as the choices were 18:00, 20:00 and 21:00. We would have preferred more choices between 18:00 and 20:00 but appreciate this is a free service!
In Skiathos town we enjoyed several meals. Our favourites were La Cucina di Maria and Bourtzi. We also hired a boat for the day from Skiathos Boat Hire (Vassilias beach) which we would recommend to see more of the island.
Overall a wonderful stay, with friendly staff that went the extra mile. We will be recommending to friends and family!

Disappointed
Staff are very unfriendly .
They don't know how to use the till so watch what they charge you.
Bar shuts at 11pm on the dot.
There are no bars or resteraunts within walking distance.
There is no entertainment or leisure facilities, they turn the TV in the bar off at 11pm too.
Breakfast is ok.
Lots of steps to rooms.
One shuttle bus to Skiathos port, driver is miserable.
You need to pre book the shuttle bus the day before.
Atmosphere is unpleasant as most guests are not happy.
However the scenery from the hotel is spectacular and the hotel is very clean.

A fantastic one week stay at Oniro
The team at the hotel were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough.
The rooms were in great condition with cleanliness a clear priority at the hotel. Due to the location of the hotel, we hired a car for the full week so only used the shuttle bus on one occasion which ran smoothly.
We met lots of great guests during our stay and felt the hotel had a real family atmosphere.
Only recommendations would be for more sun beds to be added where the tables and chairs are as it can get rather busy at peak times and for the hotel to relax the policy a little bit around being able to bring snack items from the breakfast buffet to the lobby/pool area.
We fell in love with Skiathos and will be back to the island one day in the future.
