Another great visit.

This was our third visit to Jasmine apartments. We've always found them to be clean and great value. A good base to explore and enjoy the wonderful island of Samos. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Jasmine

We’ve just returned from a family and friends holiday after staying at Jamine apartments for 10 nights. The location was perfect if you like a short transfer from the airport by the time you got comfy on the coach you was getting off again, and perfect location to lay by the pool and watch all the planes take off the noise was minimal and the kids loved watching the planes. We walked down to the harbour 8 nights its around a 20/25 minute walk down which a great choice of restaurants and lots of fancy yatchs to look at. Half way between the hotel and harbour is a lovely family run taverna we ate there two nights and all the meals where spot on and the cheapest place we ate if you don’t want a big walk down to the harbour. Now my room at Jasmine was number 4 it had an amazing view you could see the pool area, sea and run way, it was so peaceful to sit outside and have breakfast and lunch there the only downside was there wasn’t enough chairs round the table for me and my two children to eat it needs another chair to cater for the 3 beds. The bathroom has recently been refurbished and has a lovely powerful hot shower. The self catering facilities are just adequate all quite mismatched depending what you want not enough of things the glasses and cups all looked very dated and could all do with a freshen up we had 6 rooms between us all and we all had different things. The cooking area is quite small as you have a bed in the way but some people don’t use the stove on holiday so that won’t bother some people I just found it abit of a squeeze. They do provide a kettle and toaster. There’s not enough space to store 3 people’s clothes I had to leave most stuff in the suitcases which was abit of a pain, there’s one drawer in the wardrobe and the other drawer is missing. It would be nice to have somewhere to store suitcases too as they don’t fit in under the beds to store away. The atmosphere around the hotel was lovely all the guest where great no Sunbed wars on a morning you could get to the pool for 11 am and still get beds. Can’t comment on the hotel food as all seemed slightly overpriced we got ome plate of fries on arrival day which where 6 euros for a small plate. What I will say though the setting at Jamines is stunning all the greenery and the flowers, if the pool area was better kept adding more beds and umbrellas to the area and toilet area bleached it would look so much better!

Simple, clean and friendly.

We have just got back from 11 nights and we had a lovely stay. We travelled as a family of 4. Our family room was very simple but clean and had a small kitchenette, upstairs area for the girls to sleep in and bathroom. It is definitely 2 stars to be honest because it is so basic but we coped fine and as long as it’s clean we are happy. There are two swimming pools, the one near Jasmine could do with a few more sunbeds and a bit of TLC but we loved the relaxed atmosphere and it felt like we had our own pool. The larger pool is great, lovely atmosphere and we met lots of lovely people. At first it was quite and not a lot of families. But after 2 days lots more families arrived. The staff work hard to keep the rooms clean daily, but the pool bar was very expensive. The supermarket is a 5 min walk which we used lots and was very good value. Beach is 10 min walk and the main resort is about 20 mins walk or 6 euro in a taxi. The main resort is beautiful, many places to eat, drink, shop and explore. There is a lovely taverna called Pegasus half way that is also worth a visit for family friendly good value food. Definitely taste the ice cream and make sure you have plenty of spending money. We are vegetarian so much cheaper but I can imagine if you eat meat meals can get pricey. We didn’t have a bad meal. All in all if you don’t mind walking and want something clean, safe and simple it’s a perfect location. We made some lovely family memories. Samos is a gorgeous place to visit.

Not what we expected, disappointed

Extremely disappointed with the standard of accommodation. We had decided not to post a review, but upon returning home and ready other reviews we feel that we wouldn't like anyone else to have a similar experience.
Room 10 in Jasmine was beyond basic - small with just a wardrobe, complete lack of storage.
Airer outside was underneath the air-con unit so everything was dripped on overnight.
Overgrown access to room - no curtains and pool lights were on 24 hours a day shining into room.
Lack of plug sockets which were doubled by use of an extension cord hanging from ceiling - not sure how safe that was!
Mismatched cooking utensils - you couldn't really cater for yourself despite the fact you'd booked a self catering apartment - the kitchen unit had electricity and water but was very outdated and we were unsure how safe it would be.
Jasmine pool area was a collection of outdated and stained loungers - didn't actually see anyone clean it in the week we were there.
Bar area prone to mosquitos at night and extremely dark.
We didn't actually eat at the apartment or bar, but the lovely Greek lady who worked afternoons was the only good thing about the property.
Brochure said 15 mins walk to town - attempted once but flagged down a taxi after 20 minutes and we were nowhere near town - you would need to be an enduruance athlete to cover the walk in 15 mins in extreme heat.
Luckily we had a hire car so only used as a bedroom.
We are planning on returning next year as the island is lovely and we only touched the surface on our first visit - but will not be looking at Jasmine or Anna apartments.

Loved our stay!

Just back from a lovely 2 week stay at the Jasmine apartments. We were in room 13 on the ground floor with a lovely little garden at the front where our table and chairs were. A small hedge then the swimming pool. Me and hubby are beach lovers so only stayed round the Anna pool once which was lovely and maintained. The Jasmine pool was smaller but in lovely surroundings, the only thing that some people had noted was that the sun loungers were indeed tatty and looked neglected which was a shame as decent sun loungers would make such a difference! We were self catering and the facilities in the room were bare minimum but lm always happy that there’s a kettle with cups and they don’t even have to match There’s a really good supermarket, about 5 min walk, turn left when you come out of the apartments. The walk into Pythagorion took us about 20 mins and once there lots of bars and restaurants around a lovely harbour, we spent most nights there. The beach only 10 mins walk with lots of good sun loungers, we never paid more than 12 euros although there were places for free if you ate there. As the runway was practically at the end of the beach we saw planes taking off which was always fun to watch, there weren’t many during the day as only small airport so there was never any disruption. All in all we had a lovely stay and would come back again sometime in the future !
