Fabulous

Absolutely loved this place a perfect fly and flop. The view is fabulous. A seaview from every room, priceless. The hotel spotlessly clean, room cleaned every day and fresh towels and bedding! (The hotel is 2 star so the bathrooms are small and so are the rooms) The staff were friendly. We were half board and it was fresh buffet style. We took one taxi trip to Pythagoria, did the museum (excellent) And had lunch over looking the harbour. Otherwise we spent our days either by the beach (10€) for two padded sunbeds for the day, pool free. If you are not staying for a week half board, you need taxi money 20€ (10 each way) to Pythagoria if not eating at the hotel. The petrol station at the top of the road sold water and snacks, reasonably priced. There are steps down to pool and sea and it's up hill to the petrol station so no good if you have mobility issues which are affected by that. I would stay here again as nothing I have been looking at ticks my boxes for the price!! Seaview!!!

Last night - nightmare

Right up to the last day I was going to give this place 5 stars. But, the last night I felt like not giving it 1 star.
Have decided on 4 stars to make it fair.
On the positives; arriving here actually made me feel like I was living in a postcard. The views are phenomenal. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The receptionists always willing to help. The cleaning staff kept our room very clean. The restaurant staff always seemed busy but smiling and efficient.
The negatives being that there was a mosquito net on the door of our room which kept the mosquitoes out but as soon as you went out on to the balcony you got bitten like mad. I put mosquito repellent spray, mosquito repellent band, citronella oil on pulse points, washed in lemon shower gel and lemon hand wash. Even smeared my body in lemon every time the bar staff gave me a lemon with my meal or drink. Also, on the last night the pool bar staff treated us different. We had been out the night before to see some greek music in a taverna in the town of Pythagora. On the last night there was a group of 10 people having food and the staff were over them like a rash. Giving them anything they wanted. But, with us we were not allowed certain seats even though previous nights they had allowed us. When I asked about desert, the waiter said one moment. A lady came over took our plates away and said nothing. When I asked again we were told dessert had finished no more orders taken. But, again deserts came out for the other table. Another customer had asked about desert and was also told no. She asked why are they getting something but I am not. The restaurant manager a lady came over and said "it happens like that" but answer is no. This was suppose to be last meal before going home but very off putting. When I was back in the hotel a man said is anything wrong (looked like the manager). I asked why were we treated differently on the last night of our holiday. He just said "well I hope you have a good journey tomorrow". I said "are you not going to apologise or investigate?" Man repeated himself saying "hope you have a good journey tomorrow. I complained using the TUI app and our rep who never came to visit so we never met said he would find out and get back to me. Then his shift had finished. Back in England and TUI phoned up offering me a gift voucher or bank transfer as gesture of good will. But, still no one has been able to say why were treated differently on last night? Not sure what we did wrong. I am afraid I think it unlikely we will return. But, up to this point staff had been fine with us. We always gave them a tip and tried to speak Greek with them which they seem to appreciate.

A great holiday with a lovely beach served by great staff. A car is needed to reach other parts of the island but taxis easily available to nearby town for a choice of great restaurants. Hotel is quiet in the evenings with the bar closing at 10pm - overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room very clean however bathroom / shower quite small but for us not a problem.

Great stay for an amazing trip to Samos

The best beach in Samos.
Stayed here for 11 days. Hotel has the best beach.
Hotel room quaint but have all the amenities in the room for a pleasant stay. Rooms are clean and are cleaned everyday.
Breakfast was included and was good each day.
Staff are nice and very helpful. Shout out to Andrea at reception. Very nice and very efficient.

It feels like a hidden gem – and I hope it stays that way

The first step was choosing the island. We had never even heard of Samos before. What made it stand out was its unique character: greener in the north, drier in the south, diverse in landscape, far less touristy than other Greek islands, yet rich in cultural and religious sites. Every August, the ancient Greek theatre comes alive with eight concerts featuring a wide range of music.
I could go on about the island, but what I really want to highlight here is our hotel – and take a moment to remember it with fondness. It’s hard to say what made the greater impression: the genuinely kind staff (at reception, on the beach, during breakfast and dinner – always with a smile) or the hotel itself. We loved its moderate size, not designed for mass tourism, which gave it a more personal atmosphere. Guests, like us, seemed to want to explore the island and then unwind in this peaceful retreat. It feels like a hidden gem – and I hope it stays that way. Why pay extra for noisy animation and facilities you don’t use, when true relaxation is what you’re looking for?
We never felt anything was missing. Breakfasts were simple but satisfying, and dinners offered local dishes that often exceeded our expectations. Everything about the place left a deeper impression than we had hoped for: friendly service, fair prices, beautiful views, cleanliness, attention to rules and safety, a personal approach, and efficient management whenever something needed fixing.
And then there are the views – breathtaking, no matter where you stand in the hotel. Staying at Glicorisa, you truly feel Greece all around you.
