Amazing! Fabulous!

Amazing, love walking and exploring and only 10 mins into town and another 10 to the harbour. Hill is steep but lovely views whilst walking!

BED BUGS found during our stay – please check your room carefully

I have just returned from a 7-night family holiday at the end of June/start of July 2026.
On our first night, my son was bitten by bed bugs, and by the second night the bites were worse — We checked the mattress and found bed bugs.
I immediately reported it to the manager Stavros , a curious little fellow.
Stavros first suggested the Bed bugs were not bed bugs at all but we're indeed "little flies" from the trees opposite the hotel. When I insisted they were bed bugs he said that he would get his "expert" to check in the morning.
I said we must move to another room as we can't sleep with bugs, but he didn't have any free, so he called a friend and the 3 of our party of 5 in the affected apartment (1A) moved to another hotel for the remaining 3 nights, splitting our family for the rest of the trip.
This new hotel had no pool and was another mile away up a very steep hill. Stavros kindly said the three of us that moved could continue to use his pool, but we would have to walk there and back as he couldn't pick us up.
The following day I took my son to see a local private doctor who confirmed the bites were indeed from BED BUGS and advised my son to stay out of the sun for 5 days, affecting the rest of his holiday.
At this point when confronted by this information, Stavros offered the explanation that a previous guest must have brought the bugs, denying any responsibility and offering no apology.
An earlier reviewer from November 2025 reported bed bugs at this same hotel, so this doesn't appear to be an isolated incident.
Please check your mattress and bedding carefully on arrival, and report anything unusual straight away.to save yourself from this experience.
When arriving at this hotel, after a long journey, rather than being offered a welcome glass of water , Stavros showed us our two bed apartment and we had not been in his company for 5 minutes when he explained the air conditioning , 10 euro per night per unit ,20 euro a night for this room and 10 euro a night for the other room I booked..
Stavros kept saying "you pay me, you pay me".
For his own reasons , Stavros doesn't take payment via card and only accepts cash, I didn't have 220 euro cash, so Stavros kindly directed me to the ATM machine and said he would be back later that evening to collect. Welcome to Eleni.
I don't write reviews good or bad, you won't find another review from me on any hotel.
You pay your money and take your chances but please consider if you really want to stay here.
The Bed bug experience has been truly awful. If they little rascals have laid eggs and I've brought them home as the other reviewer did , I just don't know what I will do.
Oh, at my insistance , Stavros washed my sons clothes (or said he did) that were in the room.
I asked Stavros for the 3 days air conditioning money back as I was no longer staying there to use it, the rep also asked him to consider giving it back too, Stavros said no. He was out of pocket as he has paid for the other hotel. What a charmer.
I will be raising a complaint with the holiday tour company for my medical bills and the unbelievable events of this trip.
I have received no apology from Stavros, he has taken no responsibility. Stay here at your peril and please check you and your child's mattress.

Bed bugs avoid

Bed bugs …. The bed was ridden with bugs.
The owner did move us straight away when we complained but I think they knew about this issue .
Sadly it has cost us thousands as the bed bugs came home with us ,( we didn’t realise the severity of the situation )
Still waiting on jet 2 to respond to this complaint

Great location. Shame about the Fawlty Tower standards of service.

The good news is, that the location is absolutely magnificent and Parga is a wonderful place, with everything you want in a Greek holiday.
The apartment was good. Clean. Plenty of room. Excellent Air Conditioning (that you have to pay for). Very good bed.
Swimming Pool. Also good, with excellent sun loungers with those deep cushions.
So why the three stars, I hear you asking? Simply because this was the worst hotel manager I'd ever come across. (note, we asked some questions, via social media) before we came here and go no response)
It started off in a manner that immediately made me wary. He wanted paying for the Air Conditioning that minute. No 'unpack you bags, relax and see you later'. Pay now!!
Then we had (there were four of us, two couples) the amusing incidents at the bar (our question first, followed by the answers);-
1) Can we pay for our drinks by card? - No. Cash only.
2) But you have a credit card machine here. Why can't we either pay using that as we go along or at the end of the holiday - No. Cash only. That's only for paying the rooms.
3) I see you do Breakfast. What does it consist of? - A bit of Ham and some tomato (seriously this is true, you'd think he didn't want to make it!!)
4) OK then. What about meals? Do you have a menu? - No. We do Greek Salad, Pizza (and something else - sorry I'd zoned out by then)
5) What about the bar? - We just have beer and wine
This remember is the first 30 minutes of us 'selling' his Greek Hospitality!!
But we moved on and just thought it didn't matter - the rooms were excellent and we'd always be eating elsewhere. Pleasantries were always exchanged and we just thought perhaps he was a bit frazzled because he did everything himself (although his cleaner was excellent 8/10). The other three in my party, started to feel sorry for him.
Then four incidents occurred;
1) Aggressive argument for all the world to hear with his mother (note it is family run - more about that later) who was also surly and fairly unpleasant. My friend had his interprestar on and every bit of the two minute argument was, to say the least, a bit blue.
2) Complaint about my wife's hair colouring affecting their towels. We've had 20+ holidays with her dyed hair and never have a complaint. As she explained. Put it on a 60C wash and it comes out. Strangely, we saw other towels with dye on them and they'd not been chastised.
3) Next a very windy day and one of the umbrella's breaks and nearly falls on a resident. I leaped up to help. Stavros (the manager) came running over and it takes him ages, whilst me and the other holiday maker are straining with this big umbrella, to work out that the metal pole has snapped. We had to tell him and help him. No problem here. Rightly, he said that all the umbrellas would have to come down until the wind died down - which would be a few minutes. 20 minutes went by, the wind did die down - I went to ask him if we could put them back up, only to be screamed at that he'll tell us when. Seriously. This is a guy with no idea of how talk to customers, when they ask anything other than basic questions.
4) Final one. My friend found a cat in a bad way, decided to feed it back to health. Only for another tirade abuse from Stavros. Now, in the interests of balance, he may have a point that there are many wild cats - but the restaurant owners in Parga and within a 50 mile radius had no issues with the many people who fed them (personally I don't like it, but it's a free country)
In fairness, I probably wouldn't have given you all this background, if it wasn't for the fact that the hotel next door called 'Maria Resort' was the definition of greek hospitality. Here, there was an extensive menus - with the food of a good bistro standard. A variety of spirits (pleasing the missus as they had Bacardi!!). And two brothers who remind me of the how great the Greek are at hospitality, laughing joking etc. We all went there one night - simply because of that.
Ironically, they are literally sister hotels, named after them. They are run by cousins. One family had this one and the other has 'Maria'.
We'll be going back to Parga at some time, but staying at Maria and giving Stavros a big wave from their bar. Note, that unsurprisingly Maria was sold out when we booked.
Seriously. We spend hard earned cash for holidays. The least we should expect is courteous behaviour from our hosts.
